First thing I should do to my 6.5 for preventive maintenance?

Before chipping open the engine up with a bigger exh., gauges are the next step. If you can afford it a better turbo is a nice extra.
No one can guarantee a chip will produce "x" hp, each engine and it's mods will be different.

Has a 4 inch exh on it already one of the reasons I bought the truck was because some work was already done. ;)
Also I was trying to look around for a wright up on doing the oil cooler lines so I know what I'm in for in the future but I cant find one anywhere.

If you go with Leroy's oil cooler kit it's easy, just plug and play.
Yea well I felt kind of stupid the first time I changed the oil because the filter is not a vertical filter its horizontal. So I was just wondering if there was a wright up on how the hoses run and with pictures.

IMO, it is not a bad thing to chip a healthy motor. I would get a better flowing turbo before a better tune. The GMx turbos do not flow enough to take advantage of tuning. If you have stock exhaust, I would upgrade that before chipping as well. The above posts were were not up when this posted. Guages are good as well.

I would have to agree with this. Do the exhaust and guages first. Make sure everything else on the truck is up to snuff. Then get a turbo (if you don't have money for turbo and tune). From what I've seen the ATT will preform nearly stock w/ a stock tune, an hx turbo will also work if you back off the wastegate. Either way you will see another slight power bump and better mpg w/ a turbo on a stock tune. Then when you get the tune it will all come together and make you smile.

Yea I watched the video thanks keep up the good work.

Ok sounds good thank you I'll make sure I do all my preventative maintenance first. Then I think my second step will be to do the cross pipes because mine are ones that some one made and welded together they look like shit and to change the single stack to duall bull horns or aussie because I cant stand the thought of rain pouring into the exhaust. Then I need to find the 97 or newer air box on car-part and then get some gauges and maybe a turbo. But first I need to find a good diesel school to go to locally and get my career started lol.

Is it a bad idea to chip the 6.5 I know they make the blue chip that supposedly adds about 80hp is it a bad idea to chip it?

Bad idea...if the foundation for power is not laid yet.

IMO a Fluidampr and a big 4 inch exhaust and a bigger turbo should go on LONG before a guy turns up the fuel via a chip.

Well haven't been able to do anything to the truck because I wanted to stop the rust on the cab so I took it to the body guy but he's had it over a month I'm just waiting for him to paint it. My first priority will be. Oil pressure lines, Harmonic balancer, Check the lift pump and do all preventive maintenance and make sure its 100% then I think I want to do a intercooler if its possible since I already have a 4" exhaust. I'm just itching to get my truck back and drive it.
