FWIW, just saw an article where the Saudis are diving into the hydrogen market in a big way. These folks do not strike me as doing half-baked ideas when it comes to energy production. Seems that they are looking to use all the desert space for collecting wind and solar energy for use in generating hydrogen. Truly would be funny if they were the first to turn-off the oil pumps.

Hydrogen makes sense compared to the other options. Not perfect, but steps in the right direction.

They say it is ok. They said the pinto and chevelle fuel tanks were safe. So was cigarettes, atomic fall out over southern Nv, etc. i did some of the preliminary testing on peanut and other oils. The numbers were input on my end and by time they reached congress they were magically different. But the owners of the fuel company I worked for sure had extra profit that year. Hmm.

Yeah the soy bean is great. Its the alcohol thats added in to increase the water in suspension that is the problem. You mean you are never concerned about water inyour system or bugs? The worst Scenario with real#2 was minor in comparison.

Ummm here in farming land USA we have been running B5-B20 year round for over 15 years with nobody having issues with water or bugs that has made the news OR local discussion. So no, we aren't concerned about either. All the worry wort discussions that went on and on about it back around 2005 are distant memories.

That’s just stupid. Build parking garage style buildings with dirt on each level or hydroponics if you have to. If waste is that much a problem use it for the fertilizer.

Important nuance. Focus is on *FEDERAL* use of vehicles and not *all* vehicles in the US.

The Post article also touches on a key challenge with the plan for switching over to electric vehicles: the 'Buy American' policy which the Federal Government has in place. With BEVs sourcing key parts from outside the US, this will crimp any up-front efforts unless the White House wants to waive its magic wand (aka: Executive Order pen) and do away with the Buy American policy for this effort. But, should the magic wand come out, it will only go to show just how committed the White House is to the American population.
