If it's an N/A Hummer, he is happy there is a slower truck in front of him. That way he has some one in front of him holding up the line for once instead of being the one creating the back up.
Just stay to the right and tell yourself if the engine gets overworked and damaged, the clown on your back bumper does not help pay for it, so take it easy. Being the slow guy once in a while with a heavy load is annoying, but worth it to have good towing and mpg the rest of the time IMO.
