EGT Too High

If it's an N/A Hummer, he is happy there is a slower truck in front of him. That way he has some one in front of him holding up the line for once instead of being the one creating the back up. :happy:

Just stay to the right and tell yourself if the engine gets overworked and damaged, the clown on your back bumper does not help pay for it, so take it easy. Being the slow guy once in a while with a heavy load is annoying, but worth it to have good towing and mpg the rest of the time IMO.
 
I don't have those problems even with my 3.42's. Just worked her a bit Saturday hauling the neighbors boat, somewhere around 12-13K pounds, no problems pulling out into traffic.
 
I'm running pretty much stock and like the 3.42 with stock tires. When towing it does create a nice rev bands for 3th and 4th, towing or not. Truck came with 265's and it was too much towing. Going back to 245's definitely improved things. I used to work on a Square Rigged Sailing Ship that went around the world, our motto on a bumber sticker is 'We're slow but we get around' works for my truck also! :D
