DB2 conversion issues/solutions

Yep thats the motor I got for $250. I'll probably end up taking it apart as a learning experience after I'm done with the conversion.

Anyone know for sure if I'll need to use the injector lines? I've heard both ways.

yes the ds4 and the db2 are different

LB, looks like you have two choices for the IP throttle bracket. Run the 93 xover and all the serp belt accesorries or keep the 98 xover and serp belt system, but have to buy/make a new upper intake to make room for the throttle bracket like I did on mine.

The injector lines on the 93 will need to be use unless you buy an expencive set of adapters.

Did you get the throttle cable? You will need it and its not offered by GM anymore. You need a throttle pedal from a gasser truck also.

David thanks. That clears up alot for me. Ive actualy never seen a single 1996. It is exactly as I invisioned, but just to confirm, the neck will point to the rear and toward driver side when installed right? Do you have a pic of the tstat?
correct. don't have one but will get one tomorrow.

No, I didn't get a throttle cable.. gonna try to hit a junk yard for the cable and pedal assembly. Is the cable specific to the diesel trucks? Maybe I can get it from the guy...

I think I'm gonna try to do what you did...seems easier.

Cable is specific, but Im sure you could find something or make something. You might try google for a olds 5.7 diesel cable. I bet they are very close, might just be longer? Best if you can get it from the guy.
I think you'll be better off doing it like mine also, but now that Ive seen Davids single I want one of those as long as it uses the same tstat as 92-95. Got an extra one David?

It would be a one year (well 1/2 year) thing only. Early 96 inorder to clear the a/c.

here ya go Leroy. The only #s are the ones saying 195* and below it are the #s 91 20

I was thinking the same thing when I posted. I do beleive it should take the 92-95 type. I was just coming back to ask if it had the machined area in it. Seeing as it does I bet the tstat you pictured is incorrect.
My brother has one I think that I can look at (just found that out today) If it looks good I'll let you know.
