DB2 conversion issues/solutions

I tried every way possible to synch up the original APP to the cable. Had slotted arms, adjustable rods, never could get it to work right. Hard 1-2 shifts mostly, if that worked, then something else didn't. Factory TCM can be had pretty cheaply, everything works as it should. On 2WD, its very easy. If you got it to work, then that is great. My experience is most people can't. In any event, I Love the DB2, almost 8 years and about 100,000 miles if I remember correctly when I did the conversion. It's great not having PCM worries.

I found a 93 motor locally on craigslist. The guy broke two cranks on it. Odometer says 200k. I got the intakes, turbo, coolant crossover, IP, throttle parts, new balancer, torque converter, oil pan, oil pump, water pump, new timing chain, heads, etc, for $250!

He was asking $350, but since I brought my own hoist, he didn't have to rent/buy one and knocked $100 off.

I'll take some pics if I get home early enough one of these days before sundown.

I didn't get a chance to remove the fuel inlet on my DS4 yet.

Good deal. A bit of bad news, but not the end of the world is: I went and looked at my truck today and don't believe you will be able to use a single tstat on the 96 & up because it will hit the a/c mount. Im pretty sure that why I went the route we did as in post #2.

some of the 96s had a one year only single stat. I wonder if that would work

Yep thats the motor I got for $250. I'll probably end up taking it apart as a learning experience after I'm done with the conversion.

Anyone know for sure if I'll need to use the injector lines? I've heard both ways.

David thanks. That clears up alot for me. Ive actualy never seen a single 1996. It is exactly as I invisioned, but just to confirm, the neck will point to the rear and toward driver side when installed right? Do you have a pic of the tstat?
