From south of brazil, a crazy for all vehicles! Trucks, vans, pickups, suvs, tractors, motorcycles and everything who have a motor! and stronger, even better... :reddevil::

The brazilians are a big fans of the GM 250, cause he maked a long history, equipping big cars, some sports cars, trucks, boats... Even today are much popular on the tracks, most on the drag racing.

After 1995 the engine had a fuel injection, and if I'm not wrong, only here this version existed.

But is no longer produced. The last vehicle who had a 250 was Silverado, em 1999. In 2000 and 2001, Silverado only had a L6 diesel engine.

One of my cars have a 250 too:

I don't know if I can help you guys in something, but if I can, I would with pleasure!

What kind of information can you provide about the ?1995-2000? Chevrolet Tahoe 4 Doors that had the MWM Sprint 4.2L I-6 Diesel? It's my understanding that they are Brazil-only GM vehicles.

Well, until 1996 we had the D20:

From 97 to 2001, Silverado:

Look at the specs here:

In 2000 began to have only one engine, the MWM Sprint L6, with 168 hp. In 2001, your last year of production, the engine has gone through changes, and his power declined to 150 hp.

The Grand Blazer only existed in 1999, with the MWM L6 engine and the GM 250 (gas).

The S10 was launched in 1995, with a L4 engine, gas, 2.2 liters and 106 hp, and single point injection.
In 1996, came Blazer and the Vortec V6, with 180 hp.
In 1997, diesel L4 engine, 2.5 liters, with only 95 hp and 22,4 kgfm...
In 1998, the gas engine became MPFI, with 116 hp. Also reached the 4x4.

In 2000 the S10 received a new L4 diesel engine, MWM 2,8 liters and 132 hp, the same engine as L6 4.2. Optimal performance, operation and economy.

In 2001, the gas engine up to 2.4 liters, 128 hp and 21,9 kgfm. An inexpensive model and great to drive.

In 2002, Vortec up to 192 hp.

In 2005, the diesel engine received electronic fuel injection. The same engine, but electronic common rail.

In 2007, the 2.4 engine became flexfuel. 141 hp on gas and 147 hp on ethanol.

Welcome to the board, great info on the Grand Blazer and the Silverado. I've been very interested in them and the uniqueness of them. I really like the wheels they had, and the factory diesel.

The wheels that appear in the photos are of models after 1999, they are 16'.

Particularly, I prefer the former, just like this:

They are 15'.

The Silverado's engines are that:

materia_silverado18.jpg

1 - MWM turbodiesel - 168 hp
2 - GM 250 - 138 hp
3 - Maxion - 92 hp

The crew cab came here to run a test, but unfortunately was never marketed.

Seems to have some differences between our chassi and your chassi, and because of this we can't to adapt your system of 4x4. Maybe the suspension is different, we don't know for sure.

Well, assuming all your trucks are 2wd, they probably have the same 2wd chassis we use here. The frames are different between 2wd and 4wd.

Well, I wasn't able to easily find a pictures of the 2wd frame and suspension, but I can tell you they are coil sprung whereas the 4wd trucks are torsion bar. the entire front of the frames are different and have different mounting points.

Here is what my frame looks like with all the suspension components removed

Welcome to the Truck Stop, didn't there was that much difference between 2wd and 4wd

That is some pretty neat stuff. I knew there were some things that were different but never knew what. I really like the grill setup on the D20. I think that would have really sharp on the Baja version.

These mirrors are great! Are beautiful and perfect size. What else do you like to know?
I wish I had participated in the forum more, but I was out of time. Is a great pleasure to tell you a little about our vehicles here.

with the huge success of the Toyota Hilux, the competitors are having to take steps to improve its vehicles, and that includes the Chevrolet S10, which despite good durability and reliability, is very outdated.

A few days ago the press reported that the Chevrolet Colorado might replace the S10 in 2012. We do not know if it happens, but hopefully yes.

Welcome to The Truck Stop Fernando! And some great info that you have posted up on here. Keep it up! I had no idea how much was different from the US models to what is down there in Brazil!

Thanks, guys. I'll try to keep close.
12ga diesel, brazil is a beatiful country. Good weather, natural disasters are very rare, we do not have tornadoes, earthquakes ... However, the corruption of governments make life complicated. Very high tax rates (over 50% of the value of products and rates for the government) that will raise money into the pockets of politicians.
The next World Cup is here, which is a shame, invest lots of money to follow the requirements, while remaining hospitals and other public needs.

Returning to the subject of vehicles, the models sold here are a few years after being released there or in Europe. And when they arrive, have fewer accessories and much smaller engines.

The Nissan Frontier has the most powerful engine currently, with 175 hp. But it is a slow-selling vehicle, the S10 is the best selling, then the Hilux, which despite being the most expensive of all, it sells very well.

Prices:
S10: Between 27,000 and 54,000 dollars.
Hilux: Between 42,000 and 65,000 dollars.
Ford Ranger: Between 30,000 and 54,000 dollars.
Nissan Frontier: Between 46,000 and 51,000 dollars.
Mitsubishi L200: Between 45,000 and 65,000 dollars.

are there any part numbers you can get for them, are you able to get them from the dealer or other supplier and a cost? are they electric or manual? can you get a pic of the front of one of them?

Sure, easy!
But this mirror does not exist there?
I will ask friends to take pictures and I post in the forum.
There are manual and electric, original GM and non-original.

I love the diesel trucks that are available all over the world except here!! I saw a 1/2 ton crew cab here in Pasadena but it was a gasser.
Fernando, do you have any more info on the 6 cylinder diesel in the pic above? Who makes it....? What kind of mileage per gallon or KM per litre do you get?
Im actualy in process of swaping a Isuzu 4 clyinder in my truck.
Do you guys work on/modify your trucks like we do here?

Thanks for the pictures
