Big Rigs. What do you prefer

couldnt get a good picture of it last night but there was a 379EXHD that had to be 300", with a flattop 48" painted green frame, and lower 1/4 or hood cab and sleeper and upper 1/4 with black filling in the middle and some 7" mitres. Nice looking truck.

Truckin days

A few more from my archive.

The Freightshaker with a Cummins N-14 Celect, Eaton Fuller Autoshift. Looking back, the trans was pretty wild, even thought it stranded me in KC one February night... You still had a clutch pedal, only the trans/ECU did all the rest. Could go full manual control by the flip of switch on the fly. This is good for the mountains, jake brake, etc. A paddle shifted big truck. The Cummins was a mean-ass. Out-ran the Cats (of the TMC fleet) up the hills.

Benson 102" x 48' spread axle flat bed with a dump valve and mid mount tool boxes. Tight little dock. Piece 'o' cake.

Ill be damned, a freightshaker with no chickenlights, no TMC front licence plate and not a Pete! How many freightliners do they run when you where with them?

Yeah they bought out a few other trucking companies there around '03,4,5 somewhere around there. PTL out of Champaign IL was one of them, IIRC. They gave the older trucks to the newbs. Most were 60 series Detroits with the super 10. They are all off the road by now. TMC was pulling them even when I was driving there at last, around '06.

Here's a rare one... It's not even black. !!

Then there's the International Lonestar...

Here's one for you Mike. Not a very good photo but it was taken on the fly from my Pete. It was the day I delivered to a warehouse in Galesburg, IL then walked over to this restaurant called 'The BBQ Rib Shack'... Mmmm ribs... Maybe you've been there?

I even bought one of their T-shirts...:D

I remember seeing the Lonestar at the Chicago Auto Show a few years back when it first came out. They had one that was kinda cut in half and you could walk though it and see everything inside. I have only seen a few of them on the road in person, but in the last couple months have seen 2 of them. I really like how look and they look really good on the road in person.

There's a red daycab lonestar pulling a shiny tank trailer running around here. Different looking for sure. I'll try and get a photo of it.

I like the red one.... is that a Brockway? It looks a lot like a mack cab and windshield.

It is a 1972 Brockway. Made right here in Cortland, NY. Always been a local truck! I like it too! Was a tractor, then extended and added the box.

Wish i could buy it just to take it to the local Brockway show once a year. I want a tractor that i can play with...

How bout this one guys!!!!!!!!!
New big dog for Vocational trucks.
