People, we need a reality check here...
What a cop-out. Who needs a reality check? The point of Ted's is no junk. Ted basically says "buy from me, I test them, the other vendors on ebay do not. This is not junk". If I want junk I'll take my chances on govliquidation. From Ted's own description:
6.5 GM Turbo
Chevy Diesel Engine
Long Block Good Condition, Tested, Low Miles
WHAT DOES THIS SALE CONSIST OF?
This sale is for one used 6.5 Litre diesel engine center mount turbo long block from a military Humvee.
WHERE DID THESE ENGINES COME FROM?
This is one of many excellent take-out 6.5 Turbo'd diesel engines that we have on hand from military Humvees'. They were taken out of running Humvees' in the military's periodic re-power program.
ARE THESE ENGINES TURBO COMPATIBLE?
These engines will replace the turbo'd van application or any other vehicle that has the turbo mounted in the "valley" between the heads (like in some H1 Humvees). If your turbo is mounted on the side of the heads this engine will not work.
Perfect for step vans, motor homes and original H1 Humvee's

ENGINE DESCRIPTION:
It consists of the valve covers, heads, block, timing chain and housing, harmonic balancer, oil pan, exhaust manifold and center mount turbo. It does not include the injector pump, injectors, injector fuel lines, oil filter bracket, sensors, water pump, flywheel, glow plugs or vacuum pump.
CAN I PUT THESE IN CIVILIAN VEHICLES?
YES! If you have a center mount turbo 6.5 that you have blown or worn out, all the external parts from your engine should fit on this long block. The block and heads on the center mount 6.5 for Humvees are basically the same as the civilian engines. The oil pan is deeper, so you may have to put the oil pan from your old engine on this engine. The holes that the oil cooler lines screw into are larger on this block, so you may have to add a bushing to match the thread size.
We do not recommend trying to make a complete 6.5 using 6.2 parts. Although a 6.5 will run with 6.2 parts, it will not run right and will not have the power of a normal 6.5. The year on our engines vary, but all your components should fit regardless of the year of your application.
WHAT KIND OF CONDITION ARE THESE ENGINES IN?
EXCELLENT! Because we have multiples of these, the picture we have provided is from an engine we have already sold. Other engines will be in similar shape.Keep in mind that these are TAKE OUT engine. THEY ARE NOT BRAND NEW. They might have very small dents in the oil pan or the valve covers and show normal scratches, discoloration, etc. from being in use or moved around during removal and/or storage. None of these minor cosmetic flaws affect the performance or reliability of the engines in any way.
HOW MANY MILES DO THESE ENGINES HAVE ON THEM?
The engines had in the 10,000-40,000 mile range when they were pulled from the HMMWVEE. We can not tell the exact mileage on each engine as they were not marked when we got them from the contractor.
HOW CAN I BE SURE I AM GETTING A GOOD PRODUCT?
We have sold hundreds of these and ALL HAVE BEEN TEST-RUN by our own team of certified mechanics. We also COMPRESSION CHECK EACH ONE and they must meet our standards or we don't sell them. They sound great and hold 50 lbs. oil pressure at idle and about 75 lbs. at higher RPMs.
They do not have any leaks or other problems that we can see. We want them to be trouble-free. When YOU don't have problems, WE don't have problems.
