ATT DE exhaust for sale- gave up, reversed all my GM-3 bits back on

I probably shouldn't mention the illegals coming over and spreading TB either.

I'm beginning to think these manifold bolts are going to be a crapshoot to come by- how bad would it be to negate these and hope the stock ones are still serviceable?

If you've got the stock ones, use them. Unless they sheared off in the block, they're serviceable.

That's kinda what I was thinking. Leroy, any fear they're seized in there, or do you have anything to get them out if so? Thinking worst case, I really have no idea.

Also, you got a welder? I have a little something else I wanted to see if I could get a spot-weld on...

I have a welder, but no you can't weld the manifold to the head.:hihi:

90% exhaust bolts are good. Might have something around here in emergency??

So are you saying you have TB and Ebola now!:)

You guys have me cracking up with that Texas-centric humor! Not to make fun of a horrible disease, but us American’s are far more likely to die by slipping & falling on the driveway while walking to your parked vehicle (in the summer) – just to put things in perspective!

Oh crap – Leroy don’t even think about telling your wife about the deadly driveway!:cruch::rolleyes5:

Just C&P’ing, but here’s what I found on the 6.5L-T Manifold bolts/studs:
These are M10-1.5 with a non-std, semi-locking thread.
Qty: 5 of P/N: 10137539 stud 85mm long.
Qty: 9 of P/N: 14028922 65mm long.
Qty: 4 of P/N: 14928923 45mm long.
And the Tq is less than the other M10’s used on the engine – something like 16-18Ft/Lbs do to the locking thread feature.

If your worried about them being rusted in, I wouldn’t even touch them unless you have/use a >400Ft/Lbs ½” drive impact gun! If you use a breaker bar you run the risk snapping them off in the head (at which point you just screwed the pooch) as I believe these are rated at or above 10.9/12.9, IE quite hard to drill out!

Spray the hell out of the bolts! I got lucky when I had to remove my manifold, the valve cover leaked oil right on the areas of the bolts. The bolts came out so easy. I was shocked!

I can wait until late Thursday for a final all-clear. I still have it on my calendar for now, no worries.

Sorry for delay, meant to post on Tuesday but forgot.
Anyway if your still up for it come on down your the next contestant on the price is right.
See you Saturday. Email me your phone/info and I'll reply with my address.

Oh! and we need a doctors note saying you have a clean bill of health :hihi: :joke:

I've won! I've really won! Alright, game on. Thank you, sir. E-mail on its way now...

I'll see if I can get at the bolts (without taking the wheel off?) this evening to get some oil on them for good measure.

Thanks much for this info! I hope we don't need it, but at ease that it's known.

For everyone else, I'll start a new and more positive thread on all this later this weekend/soon. :hihi:

I'll check email next.

Did you hear a Doctor has Ebola now? I sure heard about it! :drama:

Yep, in NYC. But no cases in Texas. :) Will the intake manifold adaptor be fabbed up in time? Forgot to ask earlier. I'll have quite a bit of signature updating to do by Sunday!

Paveltolz- I'm sure we'll get a few.

Ok, hoping to not have to cut my manifold down if possible, but I'll live if we need to.

Just tried sending the E-mail from my other address, maybe the first one went to spam?

A thinking man might question if the American “News Infotainment” industry would have done such a marvelous 24/7 non-stop reporting job on the (3) imported / & (1) domestic case of Ebola if the Pharmacology Ind wasn’t in pre-trial mode with several potential multi-hundred million dollar cures (IE, Flu Vaccines)?
:dupe::dupe::dupe::dupe::dupe::dupe::dupe::dupe::dupe::dupe::dupe::dupe::dupe::dupe::dupe::dupe:

BTW, did y'all know that the American CDC holds a Patent on the Ebola Genetics?

Something that’s pretty much gone under the public’s radar recently is that fact that the ultra-virulent 1918 Spanish Influenza Virus strain was recently re-produced in a Bio-Lab through man-made RNA gene expression recombination. This is a disease that KILLED FORTY MILLION PEOPLE in less than a year in 1918! If this man-made Virus strain were to be accidentally released or weaponized, it could make the death-toll of the Sierra Leone Ebola strain look like a case of the sniffles! “Spanish flu caused a form of primary viral pneumonia, with extensive hemorrhaging of the lungs, that could kill the perfectly fit within 48 hours or less.” ---You can read that as drowning in your own blood!---
