ATF in fuel tank ?

Well anywho. . .

i have using the standard issue diesel additives in my fuel so i didn't think the AFT/2S-oil would make any difference well i was Wrong its made a big enough difference you can actually notice it. . .

It takes a bit to get me to support some thing and i am going to  support the AFT/2 cycle oil mixture. . .

Mike

The HP injector oil you are using for 2-stroke/cycle is prefectly fine, just better than it needs to be, which means for someone thats not an Amsoil dealer it would cost more than it is worth, over just getting some super tech or whatever at Wal-Mart.

I only used it as i had it laying around. . .But i did use some good old Super tech AFT as i didn't think AMSOIL AFT would have been worth the cost. . .

You guys use what you want in your fuel tank. I would be real careful about using any additives that turns the fuel red. I talked to a fuel tax revenue agent the other day and we discussed additives. I was more interested in what he said about Stanadyne and other additives. He advised that using anything that turned the fuel pink or red could get a man in trouble even though you was not running off road, non taxed fuel. He says the test is for the red dye itself and that is all they have to detect for a violation to occur. I said well I guess someone could hate their neighbor and pour some red dye into their diesel fuel tank, call and report them and then they are in trouble. He said yeap thats what could happen. Might mean a locking fuel cap could be a great investment.

FWIW we did a test about this in my fuel systems class. We added 1 quart of ATF to 20 gallons of diesel fuel and mixed it. After about a minute the ATF dispersed so well you couldnt tell we had added any. Now, also keep in mind most diesel trucks have tanks larger then 20 gallons so I seriously doubt adding a quart (or even 2 or more) is going to turn anything red. Just my 2 cents.

What I would like to see is the SAE30 and ATF scarring numbers, comparable to the testing done on all the other additives.

Used 15W-40 showed no improvement in the test, but new oil would have different properties.

Maybe this site can repeat the study with more choices
