I have autoenginuity. So to check the actual I need to be in timeset mode when I check my timing and my tdco. Right?

No TDCO and time set are 2 separate functions, done independent of each other not sure how you do it with AE one of the AE owners may chime in, in time set only view timing looking for the 0 desired and 3.5 avg degrees actual,

in TDCO you are only going for TDCO setting out of time set mode using TDCO learn or ko/ko with APP if your tool does not have TDCO learn capability, (-.25 to -.75 GM spec) when doing TDCO learn PCM will fully control timing, this is why engine needs to be fully warmed up when doing TDCO so you aren't overcompensating with a cold advance to timing, I can tell you how to do OBD-II TDCO with a MT2500 and a T2 but can't help you with other tools

I just went out and read the timing on my burb. Here is what it is:
These are at idle
Actual pump timing is 12.6
Desired pump 12.5
TDCO -88.5

At 2095 rpms they are:
actual 14.2
Desired 15.1

at 2300 they are 16.4 & 16.6.

So my timing appears to be way high. Where do I start? I am assuming I need to turn the pump toward the driver side to bring the #'s down and then do the timeset command. Am I correct in my assumption?

Thanks

Something looks jacked up with that TDCO you reporting it correctly -88.5 ? is it running okay, I would not adjust anything until we understand the readings, what is the reading for timing in time set?

You are reading it correctly. It has been that way since my thanksgiving nightmare trip 7 months ago when I had to put in a new/rebuilt one. I just remember after getting it timed and tdco I didn't even pay attention to the numbers. It drives fine w/ no issues at all.

I think I have heard someone say something about -88 TDCO before, is that just the out of tolerance indications on OBDII?

On my OBDI when its out it just stays at 2.02 and sets a DTC.

I know how the AE works. The issue is the discrepancy between the TDCO and the high timing.

Rodd they will never be matched they are 2 separate measurements, 3 numbers to look at timing desired, and timing actual, those have to match, 3 number is TDCO.

TDCO is another independent value, normal range is (-.25 to -.75) if set by a GM tech or other tech using a GM manual or Stanadyne pub.

Performance minded folks set for (-1.5 to -1.94) what I'm questioning is the 88.5, you should be coding if truly at 88.8, max range is (+/-) 2.02

Same on OBD-II +/-2.02, I'm not sure what AE sees, as MT2500 does odd things also that don't match T2, on one cartridge I have TDCO is displayed -5.4 and other is -.9 for a -1.94 GM T2 display, which is why I'd like input from another AE owner what their TDCO looks like.

Okay guy's I am soooo dyslexic tonight. The TDCO reads -.88 not -88.5. Sorry for the confusion. When I was reading the spreadsheet AE created there were a lot of decimal points. I just went back and reread.
