Matt & I use the same spreadsheet to record this. Just write the truck's mileage on each fillup receipt & save them 'til you've got time to input the numbers. Once in the habit, it doesn't really take much time & provides good, real-world average mpg #'s.

I should check & see how much of the cost here is fuel tax. That's often more variable state to state than the station's wholesale per gallon cost.
When my current tires need replaced, I'm planning to add a little lift & go to 285/75's. No doubt that'll will whittle my fuel mileage down some. I like the stance of Kane's 'Burb & body lift will open up some additional clearance for a better downpipe config for my turbo project.
Matt, I wonder how much of the economy difference is the additional 3,000 lbs? Would also be logical the 2nd set of tires on a dually add some rolling resistance. Suppose the 5 sp might save a little fuel in conditions where the torque converter wouldn't be locked w/ the 4L80E?
I also run the PowerService silver bottle & 2-stroke oil for additional lube. Should prolly run a couple tanks w/o the PowerService to see what impact it might be having. So many folks I trust claim to have seen real gains, so I haven't checked myself yet.
Your fuel price in general is low....wish I could get fuel for under $3.00 a gallon.
Current price for the last 3 months is $3.15.....before that $3.09.
Burns my A$$!
2 most significant things I've noted related to fuel economy are:
1. It will average a bit higher if mostly highway, but held to under 65 mph. Otherwise normal running w/ interstate traffic @ 75 mph seems to lower highway mileage to the point about equal to mixed city/hwy driving.

Yes, I forgot to mention that I've noticed the same thing - run around 70 and she gets about the same mileage as in town.
Where can I get a copy of this spreadsheet?
Thanks

If this website's fuel tax info (st & fed) is accurate, looks like there's about 12 cents/gal difference in NY's & MO's state fuel tax.

Are there maybe additional county & city taxes on fuel in Brooklyn?
