A/C Delco Reman injection pump

Ds or db pump?

It all depends on the builder doing the work. Even being a certified shop doesn’t measure up. Ensure that you will have no problems if warranty issues arise.
Leroy of Leroydiesel.com says he has a good pump builder, and a couple others mentioned John at Unique diesel having a good pump builder. Used to be Vegas was the luckiest place on Earth with Worlds best builder @ J&S, but he passed away some years back. Hearing some good reports about his replacement there- couple people I talked to that have put over 200,000 miles on his pumps now.

If $ is the issue, brand new may not be an option. If you can afford new- that is the way to go. Several people will never again get any used pump after their woes.

Many known rip off shops out there- mention who you are looking at so if it one that someone knows is bad we can warn you.

All that said, are you doing an ip for high mileage, or specific issues? Replacing an ip through bad diagnostics is the #1 most common error made for the 6.5 by shops.

No kidding. Start with making sure there isn't air in the lines and for DS4 PMD handicapped systems: grounds and PMD: PMD wiring. New (rebuilt) parts don't mean good parts esp. with IP's.

Its like most other rebadge/re-box name mostly luck of draw then vendor service/warranty support.

For me it would depend on the truck and engine condition. I would much rather go new Stanadyne distributor or higher volume diesel vendor (especially one that can lend support to any questions / concerns). For me the time and labor involved in an IP change out would outweigh appreciable money difference in price. If the truck can't warrant the extra $ then I would have to compare price and gut feel on source, shipping etc

Truck sounded like it was missing , has 350,000km original injectors , just replacing injectors and glows now (passenger side is done) see if this helps first

The skip was probably from that many kms on the injectors. I’m sure it’s going to help a lot

IMO i'd never buy a mass mill rebuilt pump. I can get you one for $990 + refundable $250 deposit with hardened ULSD upgrade.
(core must be useable or will be sent back and the shipping cost will be taken from deposit)

If you do wind up needing a ip. This is the way to go. @Burning oil has very good customer service. And will try and answer any questions you have. He’s a damn good vendor to have on this site.

Where did you get the injectors from and what kind did you get

I got the injectors from my local Napa, New Bosch, and new Bosch Glows from Rock auto, $575 CDN for injectors $ 65 CDN for the glows

That doesn't sound awful in terms of price, really. Curious - what does the hardened ULSD upgrade consist of? Are parts heat treated? coating applied to internals? All parts that move with fuel touching, or just the head?

I guess its not, untill you add in our $$ crap dollar which adds 25% to the price.
Have to find a Stanadyne dealer in British Columbia if I end up needing a pump.
GM replace the pump at 185,000 km and used a reman, that was the reason for me asking about the A/C Delco option

Before installing the turbo, after all the injectors have been replaced, start the engine, if the miss is still there then crack the injector lines at the injectors, one at a time, that`ll tell You which cylinder the miss is on.
It takes only a couple of turns on the line nut.
Sometimes a tap or two on the injector line will be needed to unseat them from the injector.

It might take a little bit to purge all the air out of the lines. After I did my injectors I let it run for 20 or 30 minutes and she got back to normal.
