68 C10 Chevy 6.5T

Very nice work. Couldn't see, do you have the starter mount bracket in place? Don't want to forget that lil piece.

You mean the rear mount from the starter to the block if so yea I still need to clean it up and paint it.

Wow, I am impressed. Beautiful workmanship. Nice job! That is a show quality truck- good luck on finishing her up and firing her up for the first time. Keep us posted with updates and pics!

Got the new rad support rubbers in and new injector return lines. Also some interior stuff ignition bezel and knobs.

Looks great! I can't wait to get started on my 67 C20. Unsure of my plans as of yet, but probably something LS-based, lol.

No, I do agree. I'd have my own twist on it for sure. Just such a cheap/easy platform for power, hard to pass up cheap EFI/power. A built SBC with aftermarket EFI and similar power to a cammed LS would be at least twice the price.

I agree I think the LS was the best idea GM has had in these later years. The bottom end of them will handle a lot with out any upgrades. The two I have love em got 250000 on the 5.3 and 310000 on the 6.0. both have gone through a water pump each. The 5.3 went through a set of knock sensors. The 6.0 I had to drop the pan last week and change the o ring on the pickup tube. Had low oil pressure when cold I now have 40 idle and 75 topped out. The 5.3 has 40 idle and 60 high. Thats it nothing else done to them.

Really nice. I love the 68-72. Nice work too.

I have a 70 4x4 that I did a frame off. It has a BBC in it, but I have plans for a 6.5 repower.

Nice. It will be easy to swap since it already has a bbc. I want to do another 6.5 in my 76 k20.

I'm looking high and low for a late 70's or 80's k20/30 to swap. I've found a couple, one is wrecked w/ bad engine the other is slick and running and priced like they know it

Now back to regularly scheduled awesomeness....

They are hard to find then when you do they are over priced. I got lucky with my k20 I bought it for 500.00. It had no motor and is painted with light blue house paint.

Wow, absolutely amazing! I'm glad I came across this thread.

Good call going 5 speed! What gears will you be running out back?

Real nice work on the truck. Brings back memories from years ago, except my truck was not anywhere near that nice.

I learned to drive on a 1969 C10 (250 inline 6) three on the tree with the 4.10 rear end. Would love to still have it.
