6.5 Powers Obama's Caddy?

Probably the "Optimizer 6500" engine which is the new incarnation of the 6.5
They are most certainly using the DB2 fueling system.

The DS4 is just to unreliable for the military to even consider it.
Probably has a TH 400 like the Hummers too. Bullet proof parts that will get the job done with minimal bother.

I thought the military used the ds4?

Nope, db2 and most rebuilt ones are being converted to the 4L80 trans. It was getting to hard to find rebuildable cores for the 400's and GM is still building 4L80's, guess it was just cheaper to convert them.

Thats good, more db2 pumps floating around on the internet. Ive heard the 4l80 is built just as good as the th400, Im not sure what would happen with a EMP.

Note the lack of an"E". Meaning no electronics on the tranny to be fried by EMP. Kinda makes me want one for my Blaze when I rebuild it sometime in the next three years. Considering going to the non electronic injection as well.

There 4L80E's, all 4L80's are electronic unless they were converted to a manual valve body like TCI,ect...

The HMMWV's use the same TCM the 94up mechanical injected 6.5 chevy vans did, identical setup to the 91-93 diesel pickups except for the force control solenoid circuit.

The TCM is housed in a very heavy case on the HMMWV, that might provide some EMP protection, thats the only possible thing I could think of for having it so thick. Atleast on the 4L80 you would still have 2nd and reverse with a total electrical failier.
