I am going to adjust my pump & I need a wrench...least expensive found on google was at etoolcart . com for $92.99. Anyone here delt with this place before?

All suggestions would be appreciated...make my own or rent one or ???

TIA

I made my own. I refused to pay $100 for one wrench. I bought a cheap metric wrench set from northern tool and took the cutting torch to it to heat and bend. To turn the pump I took a piece of flat 3/8 x1 bar and drilled and tapped holes the same dimension as the turning holes on the pump. I threaded long bolts in to go through the bar by 1/2". The only nut on the injection pump you need the special wrench for is the passenger side. A regular 15mm will work on the other 2 nuts.

what do you mean that you have to bend it???

and what way do you have to bend it sorry i am new at this and i am wanting to do this next...

any pics???

You can see what it looks like here

I have one and it does make it easier to get to the pump nuts. They come up on eBay from time to time, that is where I got mine.

They also have a pump turning wrench. Snap On made a pump turning wrench tool as well, in fact I like theirs better than the Kent Moore.

On our single stat trucks its a simple enough job with a common S bent wrench. Well it takes a little patience and maybe finess with the hands but Ive done it many times. I made my own pump turning tool by tapping a 1/4" bar and putting some short 3/8" bolts through it. Hardest part with making the tool is just getting the holes the right distance apart.

All I use are a 15mm box wrench, fine tooth ratcheting wrench and a pry bar. What are these special tools you guys keep talking about, ):h

I did Single Tstat one (GuyBB's) then went to do mine, and it was a LOT tougher to get the bottom one with the dual tstat system.

The wrench requres a good 1/2" offset.

Are you saying you can get the bottom one with a small ratcheting wrench? If so I'll try it instead of buying a specialty wrench.

Yeah, I put dual stats on my truck, and used a 15mm ratchet wrench. Worked pretty well, but had to be patient getting it on the nut.
