Did GM ever offer the 6.5l with a 5 speed and cruise control? I hope to buy a '95 6.5 2500 'Burb. It is loaded but I don't *think* it has cruise. I have read before that you can put the stalk from a cruise equiped truck in and it will work. Anyone know about this?

Thanks!

Bill

It will work but I am not sure about the stick shift. I did an extensive write up about doing it on an Auto. There should probably be a need for a switch on the clutch which may or maynot be there and wired in. Could not tell you that one. As far as eveything esle basically need to swap the stalk and put the fuse in the block. Truck CANNOT have any stored engine codes or cruise will not work.

A loaded burb w/ standard shift? Didnt' know they made em.

Awesome, Thanks a lot everyone. If I get this truck it's gonna have cruise. I can't live without it! LOL

I havn't had it for so long I forget what I'm missing... I should treat myself to this option. Bet I'd save alot of fuel. With teh new skins its easy to drift upwards of 65+ ... Unaerodynamic is an understatement on this pig.

i think the clutch switch, the same one that needs to be tripped to let it start, is also wired in to the degree that if you press in enough to trip the switch, it would deactivate cruise just like tapping the brakes would.

And my 95 has cruise. that, ac, cassette deck, and tilt wheel are the only things this ol gal has for options!

My cruise works and will kick off if the clutch is depressed, but I don't need to push it in to start. I've never looked, but there is either 2 switches or more likely, the PO didn't wire in the clutch safety switch to the starting circut. LOL

X2 - I have never seen a Diesel Sub (or any Sub of that era) with anything other than an automatic.

I've been thinking that myself. A Burb with a Handshaker? Perhaps it was a custom conversion? I know the factory did some weird things with options and whatnot but I've NEVER heard or seen a Burb with a handshaker for a trans.

You sure the owner didn't mean its a 5 speed Auto?
