Bad Phone pic. taken the day I took delivery at the ranch in East Texas.
2008 Chevrolet 3500 Dually, Crew Cab, 4 Wheel Drive, Dark Cherry Metallic w/ Black Leather. Affectionately known as Bad Karma.
Only mods since then are the dark ass tint, the Alpine touch screen DVD/MP3/iPod in the dash and a Magnaflow exhaust. I can't wait to lift this truck. Looks like it will be awhile before I can get in & out of a lifted truck though. I have a lot more planned too... just takes time and money. It works on the ranch, when I am there, and will be used to haul my next race car (the Camaro was a hurricane victim). Also a daily driver so 99% she just hauls alcohol & ass.

Just got it this past Saturday. It will be put to work next week Monday. I'll be back out on the pipeline. I'll get some pics of it workin soon.

Nice lookin Sheep, I thought you had a 6.5 or somethin once? Was it time to upgrade?

No, I have had a couple Dmax's. Needed to get rid of the LMM. Money reasons. So far I'm really liking it. Runs real smooth.

In a couple years, would like to look at getting a 1 ton 12 valve to play around with and turn into a puller.

How is it compared to the LMM, power, ride, fit and finish?

Compared to the LMM, I'm sure the LMM has more power at the crank, but I can feel more of it in this truck. The Cummins has VERY QUICK throttle response compaired to the LMM, mainly due to the DPF in my mind on the LMM. Also on a side note, I really like the sound of the Cummins as well. A very nice exhaust note. Another thing I really like is the engine bay doesn't seem as "cluttered" as the Duramax. Again, that had to do with the engine being the LMM and having the emision computers and whatnot. I think there were enough wire harnesses in that truck to run Google's motherboard.):h
The one think I won't miss on the Duramax was the location of the fuel filter. On the Cummins, it's a drop in type filter, not the canister type. Literally a 5 minute job. I'm cool with that.

As for the ride, a very smooth ride the Chevy had, but I have put on close to 300 miles on this truck so far this week, and I am quite pleased with the ride of the SFA. I have been in my father-in-law's '04 F-250 and that rides just slightly better then a World War I tank. The SFA I have might not be the IFS that I had with the Silverado, but is not the front suspension that of a Ford. If anything, it feels closer to the Chevy than the Ford. Which I'm happy about and I am excited to test out the SFA off road driving for work come next week.

For fit, I think the LMM has a nicer interior. Though, as much that is said against the Dodge's interior, I really don't have too much of a problem with it. The last company I worked for had an '05 Ram 1500 for a work truck, so I'm used to the interior and think it is perfect for a truck. No big rattles or noise that I did have to have fixed on the LMM. That rattle was next to the brake controler under the steering wheel. I guess you could tell the exterior lines of the LMM are better too.
Overall, I'm really happy with this truck. I like the look and stance of the truck, the power, and the truck over all in general.

Sounds good I was just curious, we had a couple cummins back in 94 and 95 that ran great one was a 6 pseed and the other was an Auto, the 6 speed ran perfect and never let us down, the interior DID fall apart but I think they have improved apon wuite a bit. As for our auto truck it was trash, the cummins ran great but the tranny just wasn't up to the task.

I like anything diesel personally, I will be putting a 12valve in my old big block 88, and possibly find an older 1st gen to restor. I was just wonderin how yours is workin out for you. Thanks

Here is the 454 and the LB7 doin ther jobs
