2000 CCLB 6.5 on craigslist

CDR is neither the cause nor the cure for blow-by.

However, you (he, whoever ends up with it) might, just maybe, be within the warranty period for the DS-4, a 2000 model year with 100,000 miles, providing it initially hit the road some time after today's date in '99 would still be eligible, if in fact the IP does end up being the problem, or one of them.

Few guys and a cumalong... Cumalong would do it no alone another guy 'rolling' a tire would help...

You could always chock block the trailer and unhook and pull it with your truck. Put the e-brake on a little bit to prevent it rolling forward when your done, if doing it alone.

That right there is the key....I'm surprised it took so long....Can you say "WARRANTY"....Take it straight to the dealer as soon as you clean out the filter bowl.

well im going to look at it after 5 tomorow any one got any input on what i should look for. some things iv thought of are

oil in coolant
coolant in oil
will there be fuel at FFM while cranking if i open the petcock?
would like to try what buddy mentioned about the ESO but dont want to make it run untill money is paid and tittle in hand.
wierd sounds while cranking.

any thing else? thanks

96+ should run the lift pump during WTS so you should get some fuel then and during cranking. Oil leaks? turbo play?

ya the trailer does have ramps that would be alot of cranking with a cumalong and i dont have a winch maybe it could be push/pulled onto the trailer w/ another truck

Its not too bad. Just remember to bring blocks with you for when you run out of cable and have to re-strech the line

i though about it he said something about it being a e__ valve on the pump dont think he know whta he is talking about. need to talk to him more and find out exactly what went wrong. would be awsome if a PMD fixed it which from all the problms they are known to cause it wouldnt surprise me at all..

Best, safest if you get somebody to help you. We've pulled vehicles up on trailers with another truck several times.

Before replacing or removing plunger from the ESO, you can just check to see if it has 12V with the Ign On. If not that is the problem for sure. And likely a fuse is blown.

Check to make sure SES light comes on with IGN, if not a fuse is blown, and it wont start

Check to make sure GP/WTS light comes on with IGN, if not a fuse is likely blown.

If you want to be prepared to pop the ESO off and remove plunger, make sure to bring allan wrenches as well as sockets because some have allan and some are regular hex. And bring the small snap ring pliers.

):h And it is silent in the delivery room. Is it a boy or girl or maybe still born?:grouphug::mad2::mad2:

well i had some technical difficultys yesterday and never made it down. going to go today
i was driving to my DOT physical and the bearing in the fan clutch desided it wanted to blow apart, the fan desided it wanted to go through the raditor:eek::mad2::mad2:. had the damn thing towed home. had to rescedual my physical and what not. get home get my dads 87 ford conversion van running and drive that all day:mad2:
so $225 dollars(that i dont have) later iv got the POS gas burner backtogether. had to put in a new fan clutch, and radiator. got that all put back together. started it up let it run for a bit. look under truck stream of coolant running off the block:mad2::mad2::mad2:. tear it all apart again replace water pump gaskets put it all back together finally get done at 8:00 last night :mad2:

going to try and head down this evening to look at it

Boy, that is discussting ,to have a chevy break down:eek: and then be forced to drive a furd.:shiiiiiite::shiiiiiite::raincloud::1zhelp:

ya i know i hate driving that van but it has drivin our familly all over the country its been a good van dad bought it new in 87 he would have bought a chevy but the ford had a heavier frame he said and he wanted to be able to pull the boat with it. dad told me yesterday that he has never even changed the rear brakes and it has 122K on th odomiter with almost no repaires. other than the ac being a PITA

i looked at the truck and ill give you guys my report in the am. for some reason it just went from 1:00 to 2:00 its time for bed

Here are some pics

The body of this truck is clean. i couldnt find a bit of rust on it. there is one dent in the rear pass side door. The interior doesnt look torn up but it could use a good cleaning that is for sure

The motor has deffinetly been leaking some i couldnt get under it (it was really muddy) but it appears to have leaks in both valve covers. the inj and glows on both sides are covered in oil. it is very evident that it has sat for 6 months (the mice desided to make the engine bay home for the winter) all fluids appered normal tranny fluid wasnt dark didnt smell burnt, oil was black as sin, i did notice that it was probaly a quart low. he said he had to add oil ocasionaly. he only used this truck for plowing so it could really tell me how often he was adding oil.

i could do any of the check for elec. problems or even hear it crank over beacouse the bats where dead and there was no way we where getting any thing back there to try and jump it. he is going to try and get it drug out of there this week and get the batts on a charger.

when i asked about the blow by here is what he told me. it would blow the dipstick out about 2in. he said it would only do that when he got on it really hard or was pulling a trailer. I tried to askhim how the haze was when the oil fill cap of at idel but he couldnt say dont think he ever looked at it

He told me when asked why it wouldnt run. "from what i read on the internet it is some modual or something that is mounted on the side of the pump" so im thinking PMD. i straight asked him if i could get it running before commiting to buying it and he said that thats fine and he wouldnt want any more money if i get it to run or not. he said if you want to comedown here and do the work thats fine, if i was the one doing the work to make it run then i would raise the price but if you do it same price.

it does have a blizzard snow plow on it right now but he wasnt another $2500with the plow:eek: dont think i need one that bad right now.
