1995 Air box Mods

The K47 has a very sharp bend in its elbow. Keep the elbow from flat panel filter and use it on the K47 along with the PVC street elbow mod.

I sold mine on ebay or the local street sales.

Might have sold one or 2 on the forums.

I wouldn't bother with the filter gauge. I've never had one show a filter plugged, ever

If you get a K47 it should come with the filter gauge, so why not use it? can only help ID a dirty filter. Just saying:)

The filter gauge is just a vacuum gauge with a manual reset. Just test it with a mighty vac hand pump tester. If its bad you can replace it, but if it works and you're maxing it out with a clean filter, change your set up because something is not right. If you are pulling high vacuum after the filter you are loosing power/mpg wether n/a or turbo.

They are not needed, but can help on savings.

Yeah, but think of this: Reduce the size of the pipe from the air filter to the turbo by half. Vacuum level will increase, and air flow will suffer.

Now remove the air filter completely like is done on race tracks, all the air flow the engine is capable of allows for the highest power production. Opposite of vacuum is pressure- Kinda like having a mini anti-turbo before the turbo.

Why again does it help to get the other filter? Better airflow.

The pressure and flow characteristics of an exhaust system is easy to see, and increasing the exhaust size and flow has very good effects so the engine(air pump) works less to move the material and increases it's efficiency. Easy in is just as important as easy out.

Good to know fellows, thanks for all your replies. What really scares me is dirt entry so I will check for filter fitment and the elbow for any signs of dirt.

It adds up because that turbo pushes a lot more air, so it's going to pull a lot more air through the intake. Has anyone tried increasing the size of the tubing to see the difference? Upwards of 20" of water column is an astonishing loss on the race track.
