X2 on getting a DMax for that kind of coin but as to the 2000 2500 SCLB, I had one for about 55k ( bought it in '01 with 22k on it). 6.0 - 4L80, auto transfer case. I had few problems with it except the always annoying (& embarrasing sometimes) cold start knock and the throttle plate sticking at around 60k. There is a OEM proceedure specified for that but I had my own proceedure that worked well. Truck was very reliable and plenty of beans but 14 mpg on a good day makes it a bit spendy to feed. If you do decide to go that route, let me know because I have a full 4 book set of factory manuals for it.
