I've changed the one on my 1 ton twice, the first time I was turning and braking, I thought it was going into the ditch. the second time it hit some bad bumps at 60 mph, scared the heck out of me.
The light likely just needs a bulb. I would check all the fuses, esp. the FSOS in the engine bay fuse box. My 95 would lose contact and it would shut down like the ign. was turned off.
-1.94 is about as far as you want, IIRC, I was there at one point but may be at -1.50 or -1.3# ? It's been awhile since I've had my trucks on a scanner.
That's a good thing.
I did that with the original cooler, the hyd. lines had compression fittings that went on the oil cooler lines which I cut the ends off. There is a reference to it in the Reference Library.

I bought a new IP from a Stanadyne shop a few years ago, I think it has been said on this Forum New IP's are no longer being made. Electronic ones that is, there may still be new Old Stock" out there.
I've done 3 engines, 2 never leaked and one did. I can't remember if I let "The Right Stuff" set longer on some of the installs.
Both of those fixes look pretty sweet.
