Finally got some bad pics, here's the best one. It's hard to miss my vapor separator/breather, it's easy to miss the Texas license plate that is part of the shroud.
FYI, cheapo me installed rock wool insulation under the OEM heat shield and used HVAC aluminum tape to seal and insulate the rest of it. Since I moved the battery to have a straighter intake, I wanted to have more heat barrier. I also made a prototype shroud for the filter from old license...
Is the trailer in question the one in your avatar?
I've pulled 10K all over Cali. and Baja, with the loaded Suburban in my sig.
The Devil is in the details, though. As mentioned, aerodynamics are key, so making a pointy "nose" for the front will make a big difference; I've used 3/8 plywood with...
Isuzu made the Chevy Luv. (just like Mazda made the Ford Courier) I had 2 Chevy Luvs, both gassers, but shopped the diesels completely. They made no smoke at all, had good power, and great parts availability because Isuzu was hitting the American market like D-day at Normandy. I believe they had...
This is depressing. WW, thanks for the best explanation I can remember ever seeing since high school auto shop back in the eeearly '70s. Mine lost the shrader valve last year, evac and pressure tested good, but is short cycling the compressor now.
SD, my condolences. Love your squirrel.
I had the front brake hoses start to fail in a weird way; they started to collapse causing the same sort of feel. It got worse as they heated up which was REAL fast. After letting them cool down enough to work on. the pressure would dissipate.
Took me a while to figure it out.
Braided...
[/QUOTE=WarWagon;]...they gotta be smoking the coyote buttons
:sifone:
Purty sure he's talking about Peyote. It's a small cactus that has mescaline in it. Psycho drug "all natural"...
but so is rattlesnake venom.
The "buttons" are dried slices of the plant.
I don't know if smoking...
What he said. :iagree:
1. spin the turbo with your fingers. It should spin easily.
2. Wiggle the turbo shaft for any play in any direction. There should be none.
Nothing like a Burb!
Welcome aboard.
I'm totally happy with my Walbro FRB-5 from Leroy. With my Racor prefilter and the FFM, I wasn't too thrilled with the pressure, so I asked Leroy about it. He sold me a stronger spring for it, cheap. It's not horrible out of the box, but I like to see over 7psi when loaded plus trailer going...
:RV
I agree, and add; carry a spare if you're going to stick with OEM type. I had the Walbro and the OEM in series until the OEM died. The Walbro pushed the fuel past the bad LP ok, but I noticed immediately the drop in pressure. I think I remember someone here having 2 pumps in parallel with...
Sorry, I should have explained. I get it at Walmart, it's the cheapest they have IIRC. Black plastic quart.
It's so cheap they don't even put it on their website. I tried the stuff from the dollar store once, never again. The viscosity and smell were like a bad omen.
God Bless the ground crews and the geniuses that keep the birds in the air. “We, the unwilling, led by the unknowing, are doing the impossible for the ungrateful. We have done so much, for so long, with so little, we are now qualified to do anything with nothing.” (quote from Konstantin Josef...
At least you're close to the city if you need it. We make a monthly run to Costco and Trader Joe's (yours is at 12105 Elm Creek Blvd N, Maple Grove, MN 55369 ...763-315-1739)
For MPG, definitely upgrade the exhaust (the SSD intake elbow is good, bit IMO the filter is too small) to Flowmaster...
:iagree:
Welcome aboard.
We've always had a Burb and something else. Nothing like a Burb, although there are many 'wannabes'.
When I fold down the middle seats and remove the 3rd seat, it's a longbed PU with a hard cover. With dual A/C and heaters. And surround sound.
Best of all, the barn...
