Installed my Walbro and pre filter on my 6.5 today

I really liked the aluminum channel - easy to drill and had alot of surface area to allow many places for mounting holes.

Installed my Walbro and pre filter on my 6.5 today

Finally got around to getting my old OE lift pump out, which was dead, and put in the Walbro 10 and pre-filter kit, all sourced from Leroy at the only place to get all your 6.5 parts, leroydiesel.com. I only put 3-4k a year on the truck so it doesn't get placed high on the priority list. I...

    Ordered some parts up

Hey Leroy, I ordered up a fuel filter, bypass fittings, and OPS extension. Going to finally get my Walbro installed I bought from you about a year ago. Anyway, I wanted to let you know after I checked out through Paypal it would not allow me back to you site; it said the page did not exist and...

Installing a new fuel filter on a 6.5 and have question

Hello, all. I put a new fuel filter in the truck today, which was long overdue, and cracked the bleeder valve on top of the FFM with key on and got no fuel coming out. Shut valve, started it up, let it run for awhile, then cracked the valve open with it runnning and it almost immediately...

Anyone ever run glow shift gauges?

X2 on this same problem with the banging from pin to pin with water temp and pyro. Boost works fine, but am planning on getting rid of all three. Strangely, they both quit at the same time.

Anyone in the Moline,IL area ??????

I won't be making the trip. The whole family from my wifes side will be @ the house for 3 days. Might need to post in the off topic section for prayers..... Location is a tad too far as well. 3+ hours from the house. Maybe next time; everyone have a Great Thanksgiving!

    Machine shop basics Sherline tools

I don't know much about this equipment, but my employer, Airgas, is a distributor for Baileigh mills, rollers, and the like. Might be able to get an idea on your wants versus capabilities at a local Airgas branch.

In which I document my experiences with Tread Wright

I had nothing but a good experience with them. And strangely, I asked for a certain carcass brand which they annotated on my order and when they could not fulfill this they called me to see if another brand was acceptable before they shipped them. Great service. Getting great wear out of them as...

New fan clutch, duramax fan, and t-stats (with pictures)

Update to the finished project....hooked up the fiver this weekend and pulled it out to a campsite about 30 miles away. Made for a good test run and if anything went bad I would be close to home. So the terrain out there is undulating hills all the way to the campsite. Before the truck would...

New fan clutch, duramax fan, and t-stats (with pictures)

Gonna get one "Johnny Cash" style. :nanawrench: Finally got around to putting on a Heath remote FSD as well. It was getting pretty bad, but the Heath kit did the trick.

New fan clutch, duramax fan, and t-stats (with pictures)

Yes, 195* stats. BTW, got them from Rock Auto, their picture is a stock photo and not actual. The clutch seems to be the same size, but the fan is definitely bigger. The blades are longer and wider. But it fit with no problem.

New fan clutch, duramax fan, and t-stats (with pictures)

Finally got my act together and swapped out my fan clutch with a Hayden severe duty, my OEM 9 blade 20" fan with a Dmax composite, and new AC Delco stats. First, I have a side by side comparison of the swapped parts: Then the old on top of the new. Not much of a difference, but I had...

    Thermostat housing question

Four bolts on the A/C compressor and a couple bolts holding the A/C lines later and I got the T-stats out. Now to put the whole thing back together.

    Thermostat housing question

Alright, so I'm in the process of putting a new fan clutch and Dmax fan on the '98 in my signature and am planning on changing out the thermostat(s). First, I think I got the two thermostat set-up; I've tried to post a pic, but am ready to throw computer out of the window trying to make the file...

PMD question for all that have had one fail

Stock PMD started to stall with no real pattern then progressed to stumbling(fishbite?) over a few months. In the end it would idle, but when you pressed the accelerator it would instantly stall. Now have remote kit that has been in for about four months and works great.
