My current 4974 is making 125cc of fuel on the '82 @3000. around 100cc @ 4100, Pump currently runs 100cc all the way to 5600 RPM (yeah, I'm f'ed if I break something in the drivetrain right now and the engine get's to do the "high idle").
I guess I'm getting away with murder on my 6.5 with...
You know, all this ATT talk in the 6.2 section where it doesn't apply is sickening.
The fella wants to know about his ATS turbo setup, not the stupid ATT!!!
ATS Information:
82-87 Kit has the turbo mounted above the valve cover via a rather large exhaust manifold. I've run one of these...
Dood,
Do you have previous build threads? What is this engine in (vehicle wise)?
Do you just street it or is this your "puller"
You're getting me damn excited about my dern truck again... Carefull with the boost 30psi is at the danger zone for stock spring pressure. I have pictures of...
So,
I had a customer buy some parts from SS Diesel Supply to repair his truck (I didn't get to talk him out of it prior to his purchase). One of the parts purchased was SS Diesel's Replacement GM8 Turbo for all GM4-8 turbo's.
Here are the ad Details:
JiF edit - Non-Supporting Vendor link...
I'm assuming you defeated the wastegates in some fashion. Wouldn't be much of a problem in your setup if all the exhaust had to drive the turbine. 18psi is pretty good from the GMX running on 4 cylinders.
I wonder what the intake temperature is? I know it's non-intercooled.
Did ya ever take boost results from each side when you had the divided intake manifold installed?
Always was interested in what the results would be with this setup, how laggy etc.
Neat setup.
Did you annodize the injection lines or paint them?
True, the experience is in the testing. It's just funny how Bill acts like he does all the work in house on the chip burning. I don't doubt that the characterists of the chip are his. It's just lame to hear on the phone "man I gotta turn in this chip order, you know gotta wait until those...
Since Heath got booty hurt that I called him out on this ~500 HP 6.5 I get no communication from his business. No support for HDP parts I previously purchased nor inquries on anything further.
The HDP Experimental chip sits in the glove box while the Kennedy Tune does all the real work...
The main thing is that these rings are file-to-fit.
You MUST file the Gap size of these rings otherwise you'll be eating the cylinder walls and rings because the gap will be too small.
You can also have Total Seal convert your existing Mahle rings in a ring set for a new set of...
But the caps on ebay don't include the six correctly-sized fasteners you'll need when splaying the block. The price from the homepage does (been there done that).
Valve springs for your seats? You really should check the condition of the cloth on your seats before considering new springs. Otherwise one might pop through when you're hammering down on the throttle and bite you in the thigh.
:hihi:
Good one!
You know I'm allowed to laugh at this kind of thing. I broke mine too, but I stopped running it when it started making noise, and lots of blow-by. My guess broke piston, eh.
The only thing that fits this scenario is loud and expensive noises!
Mods: I REALLY HATE THIS NEW FORUM...
There is a fair amount of things that he does that doesen't make sense. While the studs might help the cap stay put a little better, they won't really help the block from cracking. The girdle is the right idea, but everything has to be right. The caps have to have the same height, the girdle...
What does your girdle look like?
Does seem highly likely that you've got rod bearing issues now too. You cannot have failed main bearings and not have the same material end up in the rod bearings. The rod bearings are fed oil from the mains, so any contamination from the mains will end up in...
Pretty funny stuff...
And if anyone really comes up with something that's a good solution, SS Diesel is surely to copy and sell it as their own. I love all their "me too" products.
J
I think the girdle helps, as shown above.
That's what I've run since Day 1 in the race truck, it hasn't broken yet.
one of the biggest problems with girdles, especially those pictured on gas blocks is that you're simply betting that the height of the caps are all the same. Different cap...
I think it's crappy CS130 alternators used on 89-95, most likely a voltage regulator issue, or maybe the alternator is not the correct amperage version for the application.
My 1993 C3500 does it, that alternator is kinda pitiful.
