    Turbo blanket

Blanket and the wrapped the: crossover, manifolds, and downpipe past the bend in the passenger floorpan. This was to keep the underhood heat down and prevent burning the paint, again, on the passenger floorpan. Wrapped the manifolds to keep injectors cool as I ran the 6.2 heads. Any blanket...

lost tac, what could it be???

Explicitly: HELL NO! Unless you are into S&M and say like doing the job over and over again because of shit no-quality beyond cheap parts from a company that fires a veteran for stopping a robbery under their coward "No Hero" policy. The burning small and smoke from this Autozone POS reman...

    Cooper Discover All-Terrain tires

I run the Discount Tire slightly different version, ATP II, of the Coopers. Yes, they are quiet ... except when run flat giving you enough warning to get stopped before they come all the way apart. They ride nicer than the Trashforce Firestone RAM pickups come with. They last longer than them as...

    Whining sound

Get a genuine Sanden replacement. I find the clutches cost as much as a new compressor so buy a new compressor and: replace it or swap just the clutch off the new compressor. Evac and recharge will cost more. IMO replace the compressor as the 1st vid noise is loud enough to justify it even if...

    Whining sound

Anything on the belt drive is affected by changes to load on the belt drive. PS pump changing the load make may another item make noise or not. Remove belt and feel every bearing by hand. Sample the PS oil. Assume it's at the proper level?

Winnebago on a p30 chassis with a 6.5l diesel and 4L80E transmission stuck in limp mode?

Why this RV for full timing? Can you change an engine in the RV campground? No not simple repairs but the engine cracks the main webs and what's left of the crankshaft is sitting on the road. Or cracks the heads and you are pulling heads off. Read the adventures of the member I linked... :eek...

Winnebago on a p30 chassis with a 6.5l diesel and 4L80E transmission stuck in limp mode?

Wait till they get to the forgotten diesel, the 6.5TD, that I biased my above comment on. I didn't think it was the transmission the OP couldn't get help on... 🤔

Winnebago on a p30 chassis with a 6.5l diesel and 4L80E transmission stuck in limp mode?

I think you need a reality check. You expect about the 2nd worst Light Duty Diesel Engine GM ever made, to follow up on the actual all time worst the Hand Gernade Oldsmobile Diesel Disaster that put Lemon Laws on the books here, to hold together and run? Worse minor problems will strand you with...

    12v in '99 Suburban

It will eat those afterthought OD units too. Many HD MT's to choose from out there. At least try for a NV5600 with the lube mod done to it, but, many better MT choices out there. If you do something really bad in life after you die you may come back as say Bed Sheets In Las Vegas or a...

    ***NEED HELP/ADVICE***

I suspect the OP's currently figuring out how to "recover" from a serious and expensive equipment failure like this. It's an expensive lesson in balance/overloading that may simply put them out of business on the spot. Overloaded and/or improperly loaded isn't asking one's wife to set their...

    Engine RPMs revving while driving

Running out of fuel does weird stuff like revving. Flapper in hose. Your pressure gauge should also read vacuum. I have had these engines "Vapor Lock" pulling against a restriction like clogged tank sock or a softened hose that kinked shut. Tank lining coming off clogging tank sock.

What rig (pickup looks like) and trailer are your using? A few of us have attempted this. IDK how many aside of myself still show up. Happy to give out advice. Warning: Look at the Carnage Thread I Won because hotshotting with a 6.2/6.5L IDI GM Diesel... It can get expensive in parts quick...

    ***NEED HELP/ADVICE***

Ultimately as the driver YOU are responsible for operating a safe vehicle that is loaded properly and NOT OVERLOADED. Not saying you were, but, you shouldn't be asking this question: you should know before you accept the load! A jury will hold YOU accountable if life is lost from an accident...

    Can a 1983 GM 6.2 L diesel block mate successfully with a 1994 6.5 Turbo diesel

Price a new truck : any engine. Your budget should now reflect that for repairs to this one. Hell even drop in a gas engine from a junk yard. Check for cracks in the block and heads. (just pull the oil pan and check main webs) Low miles (on the 6.2) doesn't mean anything RE: if it's cracked to...

    1991 Ford F-350 7.3L Diesel - Braking issue

If you can control the brakes enough to try it on gravel roads?! Is this safe to even operate to go out and "test"? Oil leaking onto rear drums? Hydroboost pinched return line or filter wrongly put on that line vs. steering box return line. Any restriction on the hydroboost return line and it...

Weird split second profuse engine rattle leaving me puzzled and concerned

Below 45MPH the torque converter is not locked and you won't feel any engine RPM changes so much. In addition to @Will L. advice. Check the lift pump fuel pressure. DB2's knock the engine like hell before they run out of fuel. It's a weird sound you will know if a DB2 pulls up to the fuel pump...
