That is a sad story about the kid's mom indeed. That is also very admirable that he was working to help his single mother, -I did the same thing at age 8 up through 13 when my mom finally remarried a decent guy.
I hope that kid's gonna be alright.....
Glad to hear the ol' sixfive didn't...
.020" reduced compression height will drop it from 21:1 down to 19:1 (to be fair, I will say approximately).
FACT: -to go from 21:1 to 18:1 only requires .032" reduced compression height.
Thanks bison! ):h
Kris from Diesel Direct had a line on the same castings that clearwater use, -but Kris seems to have temporarily disappeared off the radar screen. Diesel Direct was supposed to be getting a new storefront, -but I never heard any more about it. I'd just go with clearwater...
Another vote here for Clearwater. The guide clearances on the heads I bought were excellent, -and the guides and seats were concentric, -nice stuff. I intentionally disassembled both heads entirely to inspect them. I did do a hand-lap on each valve, then inspected each valve face and seat with...
Aces, if I'm not mistaken, the 6.2 uses the .290" plunger pump, and the 6.5 uses .310" plungers.
A pump with .290" plungers turned all the way up should fuel the turbo motor just fine. No, it will not make the fuel a DS4 does.
The 4911 has .310" plungers.
Aces, now THAT would definitely be a sight to see, wouldn't it??
Maybe somebody could photoshop Jim a new animated gif avatar of the cat trying to bury its turd! :smilielol5:
Thanks guys, -but I can't take full credit for this one, -I stole it from Grandaddy years ago!
He has since passed, but my memories of him will last my entire lifetime. We used to be rollin' in the 78 bronco with the 351W (duals of course), -and if he'd see a VW bus, -or anything hippy-ish in...
Rob, linky no worky, but I think I know what you're talking about.
Hey, the next time we see each other, we need to stop so we can drool all over each other's trucks! :drool5:
The last time I saw the 'hoe, it was lookin' pretty sharp!
Michael, go back in the thread, -I posted up a pic of where the plug is on the evap canister.
I got your message, sorry I didn't call ya back yet! -I have been busier than a one-legged cat trying to bury its turd on a frozen pond.
Soooo, how is it going in starter-land??
PM me...
Excellent news Dan, -that there usually does the trick. 134 is some hard stuff to seal (not like the 12), and is not uncommon at all to have to do it every couple years or so. Like some have said, overfilling can be a big no-no, so hopefully the guys that did it used a gauge.
Brakes, -yep...
The only way you are going to be able to tell what is going on is to yank the heads. Some people may prefer to pull the one side that is leaking and just replace one gasket, -I would not recommend doing that, -I'd do both.
As far as snake-oil sealing products go, -don't waste your time or...
