What do you mean? The sprockets only go on one way but you can adjust the cam timing by just installing the chain (or gears in my case) a tooth off or wherever it needs to be. My plan will be to line the dots up like its supposed to be, check the centerline (the spec he gave me to base it off...
I will be setting the cam to the grinders specs. For the Fords he just has them make the dot on the cam gear one tooth off and that gets it where it needs to be. Since this is on something new, he gave me the specs to set it at to make sure it is put where it needs to be.

My cam finally came Tuesday. I just got it back in the engine tonight, but I have to degree the cam. I don't have the tools to do that, so I have to order the wheel and wait for it to get here before I can go any further[emoji36]

And I fixed my oil leak. Apparently the outside back stud wasn't fully tightened. Who knew things leak oil when bolts aren't tight.... Oops [emoji51]

The truck is back together and running again. Quick disconnect has been taken care of and everything seems to be ok with the truck. Runs good, no more smoke or miss. Unfortunately, the back corner of the valve cover is leaking now. I tried re using the crap cork gasket and put rtv on it to help...
I wonder at what point does the pop pressure become too high and you lose more volume of fuel and power than what you gain from the better atomization.

That is the person I was referring to who had success with the precup machining. He told me he had some issues with smoke and high egts at a specific lower rpm but was able to fine tune his tune to fix the problem. As for the refill issue, I wonder if increasing fuel pressure to the ip (like...
I've been thinking lately about ways to make more power efficiently. I saw some talks about raising pop pressures to upwards of 3500 psi (I guess this is the pop pressure John Deere uses with their db2s?) and increasing power and efficiency this way. And it seems everyone pretty much agrees that...
That's probably the easiest and best route. I like the idea of the quick disconnect, but in all honesty I've rarely needed to use it and when I have I've had to replace it anyway bc it leaks when it's reinstalled.

Never updated this, but I got the truck back together the next day. I broke the ops when I pulled the head off, so I need to replace it. But apparently none of my deep well sockets are deep enough, so I still need to go get a deeper deep well.... The stupid quick disconnect for the heater core...
I second that. Around here people want $2500 for one that doesn't even run AND rusted out. Hell, I had to pay $2700 for my suburban with a failing transmission, paint flaking off and a blown brake line. Couldn't even test drive it except for about 5 mph around the guys tiny parking lot. Was a...
