Bypass oil filter kit for 96-2000 trucks

Leroy, where does one get the analysis done? I know where I can do this with a semi, which is in the $18.00 range, but don't know if that would step on toes.

According to Bruce Malinson, (high performance class 8 diesel semi's) all the new rods are still way out of 'balance', by that he ment none of the big ends, small ends or complete rod itself, are the same. Neither are the pistons. Not entirely critical for our engines that probably most people...

1999GMC, do you have a lift of any kind on your truck? I remember your ride from Walt's place. I think it looks better for some reason.

    Tahoe Motor Is Blown Up

Just thinking out loud here, but my cummins friend recently tore apart his VW with the n/a diesel. He was suprised how huge the con-rods were and similar in size to a bbc. Could it be possible that rods from a jetta might be close to your needs? Long shot I know, but...

Bypass oil filter kit for 96-2000 trucks

Leroy, two things. First, could it be possible to make some kinda L bracket and mount it under the drivers side battery? Second, do you think there would be enough pressure, if by-pass set up was mounted down low on frame, to push oil back up to oil tube? Also, wasn't that a centrifuge type...

    6.5 Newbie

Welcome to TTS! I'm personally not to knowledgeable about the DB2, but there is a wealth of talent and knowledge here and plenty who are. Just letting you know, if you go back in either the 6.5 or 6.2 general sections or here in the performance area, you'll find a lot of good reading, but don't...

    HX40II Turbo Install

Not to mention that it is far more efficient and produces a lot less drive pressures than what our .5's are used to enduring. With the ratios closer to 1:1, there really isn't going to be a huge concern over higher boost numbers.

CDR valve relocated to stop oil suction......

In trucking, they call that a draft tube (or down tube). A guy I used to work with had this slick idea. He bought a 4" dia tube, aprox 1' tall. Top had two bungs on it. Bottom was sealed, other than a petcock that allowed you to drain out the collected oil. From the top, one bung went to valve...

Fun with Ted, Todd, Bill and Paul…Resurrecting an Ultimate Rebuild.

Elsewhere it was discussed that you will recover more than just the 15 or so HP. Parts should last longer, better efficiency, and hey, you only retire once. What's an extra 650? That's my opinion and sticking to it.

Cams & cam regrind discussion as a performance adder

Hey red, just as a word of possible caution, from what I've read, be VERY careful when doing stuff to your precups. IIRC, they all must be exactly the same size, pitch, depth...(you get the point). Only a few people documented their progress, but again IIRC, all 8 had to be identical to one...

Cams & cam regrind discussion as a performance adder

60ish HP is still nothing to sneeze at. Not that HP numbers are a "all in all" item. No ones mentioned the tourque numbers that are sure to explode. Throttle response? Besides, its $10 per HP. Quite the investment.

I wonder if these rockets are from one mfg and then distributed through the various suppliers. OR, are there multiple 'brands', so to speak?

    motors motors motors

Well, if they do free up approximately 15 HP, that comes to around $44 per HP. Not bad if you look at it that way. What's the Heath cam running?

Hey Paveltolz, ealier you mentioned 'harland sharp roller rockers'. I looked at their site and saw nothing dealing with our 6.5's. Could you elaborate a little?

No ones mentioned the scat crank. Cast iron vs. steel (I'm a little fuzzy if its cast or forged - sorry). Now just suppose a guy was to use a scat crank with a gear drive? And a fluid damper? How does that change things? I mean other than magically subtracting about $1500 from your wallet lol
