@jeremyinwa, I put the starter back on with the bolts that were in it but cleaned things up a bit and used a new bracket to the block and it has been working fine for now, but thank you for the info, that is good to know!
Ah so we are even then! Lol.
Except I do not drive my hazard in populated...
Mmmkay so you tried crappy projector housings before settling on the current setup, and you’ve been running the current setup for over ten years. Then it stands to reason that your projector experiment anecdote is way out of date and you’re definitely not up to speed with the latest projector...
Transmissions and automotive lighting aren’t exactly comparable are they? All I’m saying is do some reading, learn how lighting works. The way to get the most out of HID bulbs is in a set of projector housings. Anything else is wasting light, often putting it in the wrong places. You’d probably...
The point is just that the bulbs are a totally different size and shape (HID vs Halogen) so there is no physical way to make a reflector that is designed for a halogen bulb distribute light from an HID bulb in an effective, safe manner.
Can it sorta work? Yes.
Will people just suffer without...
And yes I realize that is probably a very unwelcome criticism 😂
I just wish more people took the time to understand how automotive lighting works before making their vehicles a hazard to everyone else with LED or HID bulbs in incompatible housings...
sigh...
Should really do some reading over on HID Planet forums before you go dropping those bulbs in halogen housings. You are actually blinding everyone else on the road with that setup and real projectors will give much better light output for you too.
Flushed the transmission on my Dad’s ‘96 C1500 (gasser), jacked up the front end to pull wheels and check brakes, seems the front wheel bearings are a little sloppy... can I just retorque em for now? I replaced them a few years ago so they aren’t that old. They aren’t making noise yet, just a...
My TDI has a similar setup, vacuum actuated butterfly valve that functions exactly the way you describe, called the “Anti Shudder Valve” as it helps eliminate that classic diesel slow-down shudder when you turn the key off.
Yeah makes sense, the shaft may not be able to handle that kind of pressure. The flapper also should probably not be bolted to the downstream side of that shaft, I could definitely see those two little screws just popping off and the plate getting sucked into the intake.
I saw this thread before I saw his post in the frankensquare thread, so I was a bit late on that. In fact was going to suggest an HE351 in place of the HX35 he mentioned dynoing it with 😂
