*UPDATE*
I finally got around to installing the replacement ACDelco EP158 lift pump. This pump blows the SSdiesel out of the water! I was getting ~3.5 psi on the SSD lift pump and the EP158 registers over 5 psi on my fuel pressure gauge. When driving around with the SSD lift pump, I would...
Yep, I usually keep a paperclip in the ashtray for this very reason. Acts as my OPS jumper to get the lift pump powered up when the OPS goes bad and also use it to read the trouble codes.
Have you reviewed my post that dealt with your similar issue?

Possible that your fuel tank is slimed up? Your symptoms point to air in your lines though.
I would check the tightness of the fuel line fittings up stream of the fuel filter. A small o ring could have popped off the end of one of those lines or may just need a little more tightening to squish the O ring more. You should have fittings to tighten at the fuel sending unit and both ends...
Please don't take this as an insult but did you make sure that it was keyed properly? They only go in one way and the notches need to line up. I also can't remember if there should be an o ring to help seal things up...
When was the last time you removed/replaced the fuel filter? Do you have the new style where it doesn't use the separate ring to secure the filter down or the original where it still uses the ring? I was having the same problem as you because I didn't tighten down the fuel filter enough which...
NVW, thanks for the link.
THEFERMANATOR, you learned me something! Never heard of that before. I'll have to check it out.
How do I ohm out the the ECT sensor? Put my multimeter leads on the ECT sensor and block?
I've never seen a sensor on my coolant crossover tube but I'll check again. I...
NVW, yes got it I have the list and actually used GMTDScan Tech to read and clear the codes but what I'm looking for is the cause of the code. IE what causes a DTC 15 - Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) Sensor Circuit High (Low Temp)? My ECT reads and acts normal as far as I can tell.
