04 F-350 250000kms
Injectors replaced 3000k ago.
Truck intermittently blows white smoke. Is this an indication of failing injectors or a egr cooler on the way out?
My uncle has one of those trucks. It's an 84 S-15 ext cab,2wd with a 2.2 isuzu. It's had a turbo added which gives it adequate power if you don't have any hills. However, it sounds great and gets 40mpg!
It will stay pinned above 15psi until the computer goes into limp and I get no boost. A minute later, it will kick the fuel back in and I'm back to an overboost situation.
97 Chev K3500. Put a boost gauge on and had a reoccurring problem with overboost. It would hit 20psi if I didn't watch it.
How many engines are wrecked from this problem on engines without boost gauges? If I did not have one, there is no way I would have noticed a problem.
I don't think the guy ran it at all with coolant in the oil, it likely just drained in there from sitting. The bearings should have been sitting in oil so I'm hoping there OK.
Turns out there is also antifreeze in the oil. Truck has been sitting for several years and appears to be hydrolocked.
Could it still be just head gaskets?
It's a truck that's for sale I'm looking at. Guy said that antifreeze started disappearing out the exhaust so he parked it, and then stole the rad for a different truck. 250000kms, full load, nice body and interior. Could probably get it for $1k. I have several good heads from another...
98 Chev K2500, 200000kms, transplanted engine from 94.
Truck has been running great. Last night it would run for a few seconds and stall.
Started it this morning no problem. Truck runs great, but now throws P0216 and P1214.
I'm assuming that the no start has something to do with the new...
The 1500 is an S engine, while the 3500 is an F.
The 1500 will top out at 15psi and then settle down to 10psi.
The 3500 as I said bounces around under heavy load. I've also had it go to limp mode (I guess), where it will only develop 3 or 4psi for awhile and them jump back up and start bouncing...
I've done nothing. Maybe my cheap boost gauge is inaccurate. I just put a T on the port the the IAT mount in on the intake manifold and get the boost pressure reading off of there.
