Spraying steering fluid out the pump, still.

When I drive it, it overflows and gets sprayed onto the motor. Any ideas why?

    Re. Inj pump removal

I like perusing the local yard sale wares for American steel hand tools. Upon rare occasion I come across some decent Swiss files too. That makes a gunsmith happy. Mostly their rusted or have been banging around in a drawer against themselves. Very poor form for files.

    Tool for inj. Pump fittings

I used to, and will again, gunsmith. Never owned a tig and my horror freight mig was a joke, but it wire flux cored well.

    Tool for inj. Pump fittings

I like Brownells hi force 44 and comet flux. I can stick weld with my buzz box pretty decent if I say so myself. Small work tho...

    Tool for inj. Pump fittings

I cranked the bottom ones too. Thought I got all of them. Maybe timing the pump loosened it. I ordered a US made, 12 point crows foot, branded "Bonnie". Hoping it's a good fit. I'd like to find a couple used US made box wrenches to have custom bent and welded for the bottom two. Maybe when I...

    Re. Inj pump removal

Even with the leaks and timing off, this pump starts hot and sounds better than the previous rebuild pump. Waiting on a crows foot from my brothers tool box, my horror freight one broke. I also ordered a 12 point one, us made, called Bonnie, off the web. 10 bucks, but if it works and fits...

    Re. Inj pump removal

Two leaky line fittings at the pump. My bad. Trying to find the magic tool to turn them. Anyone know of any thing made to reach around, beside, under the pump from above and turn them? I was pondering a trip to the welder to see what he could heat and bend and weld together. A 12 point...

Long, slow build of my truck

I had good effect from STP oil additive. 2 pints brought my pressure up. Mystic 15w50 is my next thing to try. Ordered a 5 gallon bucket for $80 shipped.

    Tool for inj. Pump fittings

Trying to find just the right wrench to get on the 4 and 8 o'clock hard line fittings on an installed pump with the intake on. I've got a leaky, loose fitting. Glad it's not the two bottom most ones. My crows foot is a six point and is not clocked right. (Plus I broke it). I could cut down...

My nifty neato AEM filter in a bag in a duct is in the truck. I decided to go all out and have a pair of silicone elbows on the way. No time yet to put in the hood roll pans.

Started it. Huge cloud of white smoke. Just a tad tarded I spose. Was getting late, so I left it there. Tuning tomorrow.

Turbo's in. Working on putting in an AEM air filter next. I think I got a smaller one than I thought.

    Re. Inj pump removal

I've got ground cables all over. I have a bus bar, ground from batt, to frame, block, firewall, radiator support. I'll also run a solid copper wire from it to the bus bar. I got that in today. Had to drill the intake and tap it to 3/8-16 in the 6 bolt holes for the hat. I had stripped a...

Need to get my speedo/odometer back in my old Burb.

I tapped into an input and output vss. I never used the one on the t-case, even tho I drove about a half hour shy of Canada to get one with that and the proper mount for the np205.

    Re. Inj pump removal

I hope the aluminum, when bolted to the firewall, will ground. I'll put star washers on both sides of it.

    Re. Inj pump removal

I think I'll relocate my oil monitoring signal center, it'll be a remote oil pressure parameter signal system. I bought a grease gun whip to run from the block to the eBay do hicky in the picture. It has two 1/8 npt taps in it. Then I'll put a 4 way cross in it for my sending unit, dummy light...

Need to get my speedo/odometer back in my old Burb.

I run a quick 4 with a 4l80e. My truck is no where near original and is an 86. My answer was to mount my GPS permanently and get my speed from that.
