Thanks for input all. I do have head studs and serpentine belt setup. Would there be any reason to not run 1988 6.2 heads on a 1996 6.5 block? Will check on the precup style. Also I have a couple turbos. Banks and a tf07. Or I could sell and get something else

So, what I have so far. High output Water pump upgrade. The banks turbo setup. Geared timing set. I need some injectors and a pump. Mechanical of course.

1988 crewcab, 96 6.5 military takeout. took the whole thing to a diesel mechanic to put together. He is going to start with a compression test and overall inspection of the engine. He is familiar with 6.x engines.

I have similar. 88 crew long box.started on 6.2,now am undecided. But between 6.5-6.2. Either would have the banks setup.

thanks for the replies. i picked up a 2006 6.5 a while back. just got the accessories this afternoon. that is besides the 6.2 project. i would add pics if i could figure it out.

I called heath month ago,guy that answered said(we don't build engines). So I asked to be pointed in right direction,recommendation for builder. Was told call back. I did a few tiems. Told same thing. My regular guy is retiring. When the guy I had work the heads with port polish,saw banks...

ive never heard of that issue. Do know that performance coatings in auburn wa. only does inner and outer together on exhaust because of warrety issues.
