I'm in AK for the summer job and need to get my '96 6.5 running. Last year it did the PMD thing which I replaced with a new unit the prior owner had purchased but never installed. I remote mounted it but forgot about the resister. It ran fine for a few weeks then just died numerous times in the...
Well, the sticker on the air box is interesting. Mine had a portion scraped off where I guess the schematic showing the vac pump/wastegate etc was. According to the most friendly/knowledgable one of the techs (one who wanted to call the muffler a cat and let me pass ), the sticker on...
I had the '99 that was for sale in the classified section a week or so ago. I met the buyer today at AAA, did the title transfer and was told we needed a smog check, bummer!
First shop hooked up theircomputer to the OBDII port and popped the hood. He immediately noticed the A Team turbo, no...
I had the muffler shop install mine. They had to cut it at the mid point, re-orient the tubes and weld back together. Not a big deal but costs me $70.00
Yeah, I knew the move would foster some harrassment! Sure is a cult following with the 6.5! It was a great truck but my next move after the A Team Turbo was another 1000.00 for water injection and a Kojo A Team ECM all in an attempt to maintain speed up the hills and prevent overheating. The...
Ok, you mention single lift pump, what is available/recommended and how much $$$. Is the purosil hose a standard issue parts store hose or special order specific to the Dmax? How about the fuel hoses, are they bulk hose cut to fit or specific to this application?
Thanks again, can't wait to...
Just purchased an '01, CC, LB, 2wd with a 6" RCD lift and 315/75/16 tires. It has 146K and injectors were replaced at 50K back in '04. A Carfax showed dealer maintanance up through 110K, then it appears to have disappeared. The car dealer had it run through the stealership where they did an...
I'll have to check again but I swore they said load range "E". I guess with the taller tire I'm more concerned about the height changing the gear ratio so that I loose towing power as opposed to the weight carrying capacity of the tires.
I'm looking at buying an '01 Dmax, CC, 2wd, LB with a 6" lift and 315/75/16's. I'm concerned about the taller tires killing the towing potential, especially on the long grades here on the northern CA coast. My travel trailer is 5000lb dry plus gear and 5 bodies in the cab. For those of you that...
I'm looking at an '01 with 146K on the clock. It had the injectors replaced at 50K in 2004. Were these injectors better than the originals or the same design with the same flaws? In otherwords, is there a possibility that the injectors could need to be replaced again? Is this something the...
Buddy,
That makes some sense so perhaps that is what is happening. I have two big towing trips coming up here in June so I will see what it tows like. If bad, I'll look into the KOJO tune over the top of my Heath unit.
Isn't that the boost solonoid code? You need a boost fooler or reflash to eliminate that. It'll go off in a day or so (after a certain amount of warm/cool cycles. 4-5 or so I think)
You never coded that with the GM-X and the TM setup?
Is your module still plugged in?
I had the Heath...
I get an intermitent 236D error code after my A Team install. Any ideas why?
I also have lots of oil passing through the intake system, how do I check the CDR to see if its opererating correctly?
I also just noticed a small coolant leak at the timing cover. How difficult a job is this and...
I have had good luck with the following vendors:
A Team Turbo guys, turbo
Accurate Diesel, injectors
PMDcable.com, new wiring harness, Walbro pump
WarpSpeed, crossover pipe
SS Diesel, down pipe
Heath Diesel, PCM, Turbo master, fan clutch, lift pump
I had an issue with the downpipe...
Just got the injectors/GP's/crossover/A Team installed and am now looking to replace the 10yr old radiator. I have the upgraded Heath fan (which I've never heard come on even though temps have been above 200) and recently put in 180 t-stats.
Anyone have a line on a good replacement radiator...
