I need to replace the transfer case on my suburban. It is stuck in neutral. My son took it to Aamco and they said it was shot. It has 300k on it so it's probably due. What Transfer case do I get. I have a push button system on the burb.

Since the oil cooler holes are NPT would that be NPT as well?

The hole looks to be 3/8 - 1/2. It's slightly smaller than the 5/8 oil cooler line holes.

Well we may have a problem. When we pulled the engine the TC was leaking so I pulled it off and it has been sitting on the shelf for about 5 years. I didn't mark anything when I removed it.

Good idea. When my boys were small I used to have them do it but they are all bigger than me now.

Getting my build done slowly but surely. I'm at the point of installing the lifters. The book says to soak them in diesel or kerosene and use the rod to plunger the lifter to prime it. They have been soaking in diesel for about 24 hours and they barely move. How have you guy's done them?

Mine is the 3800 only. No other cups. Live and learn. I guess I'll need to rebuild a 3800 to get my money's worth out of the tool. 😁

The part number on mine is J 38196-4. It's the same p/n on your original pic you sent a few months ago. I'm assuming there multiple tools with the same p/n w/ different attachments.

I'm finally getting around to installing the rear main sill. The problem I have is figuring out how to use the tool. The cone is smaller than the RMS.

Just getting around to order the new rear main seal that I cut. I noticed a viton one. Which is better for our trucks viton or rubber?
