Thanks guys, I figured it would take a while to get use to it. I did find 2 manuals online one for the genuine gm tech2 and one for the CKO tech2 it’s slightly different. Yes I’ll use it on a different vehicle to get use to it. The only car I have is a 2002 Mazda. It has a...
Excited to get my new scanner. You think for that price it would have a users manual included. I guess that’s extra. Anybody ever buy one of these? I guess I’ll go hunting on the web.
Thanks I was just coming back on here to say never mind. I feel so stupid I put an oil pressure gauge on the end of the hose the OPS goes too duh. Yes I already have an upgraded lift pump relay and harness . I used an old pump drive I modified to prime the motor to fill up the new...
Thanks, I bought the top one in Wills post. It also offers free returns. It’s got a lot of cables. In the description it says OBD,s supported CAN,OBD,OBD2. Getting closer to firing this mother up I’m getting so excited. Any body know where this connector goes? The one...
Thanks for the reply, I seen in your signature you have a cold air box out front. Was it very difficult to install. I have the same truck but with an automatic transmission. How do you like changing to the 3.75 gears? I got my Optimizer from Leroy’s last year and hope I don’t...
Thanks guys for all the info. I misunderstood I thought the Tech 1 was the only scanner that would work on my truck. I don’t mind spending the money on a scanner. I have several different ones.
I might as well go with the scanner because I do not have a lap top only an iPad...
I’m getting close to firing up my Optimizer build finally. I have the GMTD scan basic but I need the GMTD scan tech. Can’t find it anywhere. I got my free GMTD scan basic from English Motors. I guess they closed up shop. I did see one on a web site and the amount to buy it...
Thanks Glagulator. What manual is this one from ? I have the red gm c/k service manual and there is not any electrical schematics in it. Does GM have a separate electrical one? Thanks.
Looks like I can clean up (eliminate) a lot of wiring that goes down the rear of the engine on the passenger side. It’s tough to run any wires or hoses (anything that can’t get hot) down that side near the crossover and down pipe. I still need to run trans. hoses in that area...
Thanks Glagulator, yes the guy before me must of put the cable on. When I was going through all the wiring and replacing the damaged wire looms , that circuit (the one with the 5 pin conn.) was a harness by itself in a loop. I also have two relays on the firewall that the harness was...
Thanks. Well they didn’t do a good job. No insulation on the wire just wrapped the wire down at the transfer case with tape. So that connector was used at some time? It doesn’t show up on the electrical schematics. I wasted time fixing the splice and insulated the wire. Oh...
Thanks Glagulator, yes I do have the Borg Warner transfer case 4401. I couldn’t find that connector in the 95’ electrical schematic. What is a PO? Like I said in my earlier post somebody’s been doing a little wiring in that circuit. They spliced 1 wire all the way down at the transfer...
Hi all, I’m trying to figure out where this connector goes (2nd pic.) I labeled most of the wiring before I took everything apart last year but not this one. Could it be the connector to the missing 4x4 actuator? Somebody before me installed a cable set up. The white connector ( I marked...
Yes it is a factory 4L8OE and a OEM TC. My trans. guy said it’s not uncommon to see that big of gap between TC and the flex plate when you do an engine swap. He told me to go ahead and just use one washer (maybe 60 thousands). I’ve had the TC bolts in and out a couple of times...
Yes I was wondering about a pilot bearing on an automatic trans. I talked to the trans. shop about a pilot bearing application on an automatic trans. and he told me that some times when they do a LS engine swap they do use a pilot bearing. He told me to take the washers and bolts out and slide...
