Anyone know where I can drill into the firewall to mount my fuel pressure regulator? The two visible screws have plastic behind them (dash mount?). Thinking about going into the rib for the top two screws.
Thinking of mounting this gadget right here. Since an AirDog requires them to be run on the "return to tank" line, I have a problem. I don't want to run a boost referenced line all the way to the back of the cab. I certainly don't want the regulator and sending unit exposed to all the road...
The turbo has a big effect on fuel mileage. The closer to zero boost at cruising speed, the better economy will be. Like Chris said, timing is very important. I run mine a little lazy to protect the head gaskets at lower rpm. Climbing mountains or running in FL also affects mileage significantly.
Austrian firm AVL designed the 6.7. Ford does claim "in house", but the truth is the the Duramax was more "in house" because GM owned 80% of Isuzu's truck division at the time. The 7.3 is a great motor.
For those of you who know, is that the most common failure point (before 2nd main) on these crankshafts, or is it completely random?
I apologize for the derailment!
@SnowDrift , nice find!
