Didn't 6.5L have a problem about low boost numbers? It would seem to me the turbo is too big for the fuel he is putting out so the turbo is never being spooled up all the way causing the black smoke. This is of course if everything is timed correctly and mechanically sound on the engine.

I would like to know too. I have a similar problem and in my thread there was some very good suggestions.
have you changed the timing on your cummins for the best mileage? i notice you dont run a fuel plate. Have you thought about tuning the afc for less fuel down low? Are you sure your speedometer is right?
a stock rebuilt 4L80e that isnt worn out can handle pretty much any upgraded turbo and tuned 6.5. These trannys were put behind slightly detuned duramax vans and big block V8s so they got the strength. Plus they are going to shift faster than any truck manual tranny ever could. Sorry for the derail
Yes I cleaned all the grounds near and around the intake. If this starts to happen reguarly I will look into replacing the multifunction lever and will go from there. Thanks for the help guys!
Well the dealer decided to plug in the new pmd in the stock location after my inj pump died. so it would be hard to unplug it with my fat fingers to plug the pmd i got from you that is on the bumper but if this problem does get worse I will try it.
Thanks for the video. The problem is the...
Recently the truck after traveling at higher speeds (60 mph+) the cruise control will kick on by itself after I have took my foot off the pedal. This only happens when I let the truck slow down without the brakes and the cruise control switch is on the on position. I will add that during the...
I would do a whole cooling system refresh. clean the rad, new thermostats, fan upgrade, wp, etc.... Bigger turbo would help you a lot and a walbro lp would be a good addition to keep the fuel flowing when your really getting on it.
these pumps make 10,000+ psi of pressure so your pump will be able to support it. imho higher pop pressure inejctors have not been tested enough to know the benifits and disadvantages in these engines. You also have to remember is the higher you set the pop pressure the more strain you put on...
