How do you all get 6.2s to 300K miles

Its a multi belt/pully system, it's not just a singular belt if thats what youre asking
I believe that AC Delco might make their balanced flow pump for that system.
The multi V belt system drives the coolant pump in the opposite direction as what the single micro groove belt does.
So the flow cooler or any of those other pumps will not work on Your truck.
It has to be the pump specifically designed for the V belt system.

Or You could seek out the micro groove belt system from an auto salvage and bolt it to Your engine.
That then would require an alternator made for that mounting system and if it has the AC compressor on the RH side then the belt system would need to be of the earlier micro groove belt system with the alternator to the left side of the enjun.
I think thats how it works. Some that smarter than I should straighten out my flaws.

Yup, none of the pumps that I have seen will work on Your belt system.
I do think that there are balanced flow pumps for the V grove belt/pulley but IDK what the PN is for those.
Maybe @dbrannon79 or @Will L. can plop in the numbers.
Perhaps this?

With the V groove belt system-(not serpentine belt)
You can ignore the comments about balanced flow and specific exact part numbers.

AC Delco or Gates were both good choices. Stay away from flow cooler.
You do want one that says “H.O.” High Output. More flow the better in these puppies.

I also say stay with the thermostat you have if it’s working good.

As to what else to do while you’re there- how much money do you want to invest and how long are you keeping the truck…

New front main seal is a must, might need a speedi sleeve depending on wear where seal rides.

Time keeper from Leroy is nice not mandatory. Without it you need to adjust your timing about every 30,000 miles. I would do a new timing chain if not Leroys set up. Cloyes is best imo.

Leroy all out of time keeper sets.
I seen they was OOS on his we site so sent him a email.
He said He most likely wont be ordering more of those in as it takes about two years to sell his 200 count minimum order.

1. Copy, I guess ill go with ACDELCO (https://a.co/d/4PHi5tO) instead of Gates then for good measure, unless, if both are actually indifferent, ill choose gates since $$$

2. I plan on keeping it until it (and may it not happen for a while) gives out on me. Bought it straight cash, no payments, and insurance is dumb cheap on it (even with full coverage)

3. Will do the seal, also speedi slevee?

4. Time keeper?

the pump shown in that link will not fit Your 6.2.
The one You need will have a flange instead of a pulley and that flange will have bolt holes drilled and tapped for You V belt pulley to bolt to.

Looks right to me.

I wouldn’t worry a ton about run a timing chain instead of the gear set Leroy sold.
The chain is ok, gears are a convince factor if you aren’t running a massive lift camshaft or rocker arms.

A speedi sleeve is a super thin cylindrical pipe that fits over the crankshaft snout to cover up wear marks from the seal rubbing on it for many years. Many are ok with just a new seal, once apart if you can feel the wear with your fingernail- it needs a sleeve. If not then just a seal is needed.

Well boys, if no objections or suggestions

Im going to order it

Currently, it just leaks from the weep hole, but, not trying to make it worse, wonder how long it can last in that state though
I hate to guess, but I've seen them.last a long time with just a drip.
Others fly apart and take out the radiator.
I'm not sure if these water pumps are prone to the worst case scenario or not.

The weep hole is because coolant is getting into the front bearing.
At some point the bearing will seize up. I have never seen a belt break first- it’s always been the shaft to the fan shears off.
Congratulations, you have a 20” ninja star spinning a few thousand rpm. KISS anything on the front of the motor goodbye and enjoy what didn’t get destroyed.

I’ve seen after effects of one -go part way through a fender, one blade snap off that made it out- go through the Cadillac door that was driving next to it and into the gut of a 40 year old man driving the caddy. His family declined the 7million dollar offer…

....oh God no.

Guess im going back to driving my clapped out, misfiring 3.4L 01 Impala

hate that thing, lowkey, ill never understand why its misfiring. I replaced the spark plugs, coil pack, spark plug cables, etc. Still does it
