ok i have changed the sending unit by pass the switch box for the tanks and still have a wild gas gauge it will start on full the drop to empty then bounce around then goes back to empty can any one help please

its a 1998 chevy c3500hd with dual tanks have cleaned the grounds change the cluster and the sending unit with all new 3 different times and still get the same thing when you turn the key on the gauge will go to full then it will start bouncing then goes to empty and stay there
 
You say you have dual tanks, have you done both sending units? And I believe the 3500HD's used a dual tank module to control the fuel gauge. I've never messed with one so I can't tell you where it's at, but that is where I would start ooking at first.
 
ok how do i by pass balance module so it will read for an aftermarket fuel gauge and fuel pump i have completely removed the rear tank to put a wheel lift in but i can not get the fuel gauge to work so i went out and bought an after market fuel gauge and fuel pump now i have 4 wires two blacks,purple,gray i know the larger of the blacks wires goes to fuel pump along with the gray then the purple is to the fuel gauge so where does the last black wire go to
