will 6.2 ip work on 6.5?

Like I said before, -if it wasn't for the fact I had the NV4500, I would have probably stayed with the DS.

However, it is waaaay cool that there is only ONE little wire to run the DB, -and the fact that it always starts with a BUMP of the key.

Have I mentioned lately how much I like it? :D

DB, DS, -whatever, -as long as it's a 6.5

Man we're a sick crowd, ain't we?

Yeah, -something along the lines of...........

Hello, I want to thank all of you for welcoming me to the "support" group. My name is Rich, -and I have three 6.5's, -and only one isn't broken.

Meant in good taste of course! ):h

I'm just a PO-BOY who can't afford a duramax payment. Plus, I just really like my old truck, -she's a keeper.

:iagree:
You will notice to though, that I pointed out my truck setup. Like Rich said, the NV with that one wire running the IP makes life, well, as beautiful as it will get driving these trucks IMHO. :lmao:

Like you said with Heath, if the DB2 had been better suited for his application, it would have been on the truck. He's got respect from me for putting a 6.5 out on the front.

Hello, I want to thank you for welcoming me to your support group. My name is Ben, and I have two 6.5's one of which isn't running, and just finishing exacting revenge on another 6.5 that I cut up with a torch. Clearly I need help. Or some diesel fumes..... ):h

LOL. We are sick puppies, alright.

Personally, I like the electronics. It's sort of about the thrill of the unknown... live life for the moment, because your PMD could crap out any time :D.

Seriously, if it wasn't for guys like Bill Heath and the 'Doc, I would have probably tossed my 6.5 when the PMD first died. If I had taken it to the GM dealer and had to buy myself another IP every year and a half, this here truck would have soon been sold, rather than being my girl for the last 100K.

Well, With a DB2 you can't just change the signal switch and have cruise now can ya....
My truck didn't have cruise from the factory. Used 75$ Multifunction switch later...Now it does. Try that with your stinkin throttle cables ya rebels. :)
BTW I was seriuosly considering defecting to the Dmax brotherhood but after spending some time over there and reading up they seem to have alot of the same problems. There are plenty of"Need a headgasket" threads or "need injectors" so atleast headgaskets and injectors(well not really, that should be corrected because our trucks don't have "injectors" they have "nozzles")are cheap and easy to do for a 6.5 . Don't get me wrong..The dmax is a fine animal and I hope to own one and no comparison on achievable HP etc but they break too and they break real expensive..

Aces, aces, aces........... ):h

Surely us DB "rebels" have taken cruise control into account and pretty much deemed it WORTHLESS in exchange for having a ONE WIRE injection system. :D

I'm just jabbin' ya man.

Us DB guys are just too simple minded I guess. We can do without cruise control, and electronic advance, -yada yada.

One wire, one cable, -YEE HAAW. :icon16:

I thought like that when I was 20.
Now I'm 40 and I like my cruise and A/C .

Damn, I'm 40 now too, -officially over the hill. I still haven't figured out what I wanna be when I grow up.

Maybe there IS something wrong with me? ):h

To be honest, there are a few occasions where I do miss it, -but since my truck is primarily used around town 99% of the time, -I've dealt with it.

If I was doing long drives like Tim is doing these days, -I'd surely be figuring a way to hook one up.

There is a factory cruise option for the 4911, but it's kinda messy.

Whaddya ya'll mean about the cruise? My truck's got it, and it works well. On the other head, I am chasing a freeakin' electrical gremlin that I have traced to the box by the e-brake. Stupid thing is shorting occasionally or something. My stereo will randomly turn my extra marker lights on and the only way to turn them off is to turn off the stereo. I hate electronics, but only cause I don't understand them. :mad2::mad2::mad2::mad2: ):h

actually, just thought of this too, the 93 parts truck that I just finished cutting up :firedevil: had cruise on it as well, in conjunction with the 4L80.

Ah well, us DB-2 guys won't hold your electro-whacko personalities against any of you :nono:, lol.

I guess as was said, misery loves company, so lets all :partay:

Leave Radio on over night tuned to Oral Roberts. It will heal itself....):h

LOL....

To be honest, the reason I bought the 6.5 diesel is 'because its a diesel, its simple, dependable, and plenty of power'...

If it wasn't for TD and GMCTD I would have totalled my truck out 6 months into my loan.

Walt actually helped me 4 months into my loan, but a few months after that his crap crapped out on me and he had me replacing everything under the sun around my IP when the problem was his stupid design.

Should know there's a problem when he says he use to be a thermal engineer and his design is the best spot possible for it. In fact, most dealerships buy HIS FSD for replacements. He's a bullshit liar and a parts pusher.

I went onto his forum and started explaining my problems and warning others, and he daily deleted my messages until I could no longer post.

he's just as bad as Stanadyne IMO using poor design as a cash cow. He paid good money for search engines to link his link first when searching for '6.5 stall' ... What a joke his FSD and his parts pushing is.

He took advantage of me. At least all my IP harness's and a bunch of other misceallaneos parts have been replaced even though they didn't need it.

I share this view of Walt. Used to have a really good opinion of him, and he helped get me Dad's 95 going, for a little while. After which, he had him (my Dad), replacing everything around the IP and the IP itself. I recently asked him for the specs on his HO injectors that I bought off him, and he told me it was a "trade" secret. I told I thought that was ridiculous.

I tried to join his forum a little while ago, and because I told him off, he blocks me every time. Must have a way to confirm with the IP that it's my home computer. Still pissed off about it. I am surprised you were able to post at all after a few times. Seems people get shut down pretty quick. Not mention that I read a few posts that seemed be written by people believe all you needed was Walt's special resistor, his HO injectors, and his air intake coupled with a re-flash, and you cranky old 6.5 would push 450-500 hp at the wheels. :icon_bs: But I laughed anyways. ):h

Exactly... this was 2 1/2 years ago right when his forum started IIRC... perhaps I was one of the pioneer truth tellers on his forum before he just instantly blocked people. I got a few jabs in anyhow. Good thing GM put redline limiter in these as low as they did, or my engine would not be here today for sure. Frustration wasn't the word.

Somehow I broke free of Walt's advice and found GMCTD and TD and they helped me fix her right...
