Wifey looked at me today and said out of the blue:

"you know, you should get those new injectors and glow plugs you want for the truck"

Pardon me?

She' gone nuts!

Not one to ask questions, I'm shopping for the stuff right now.

I can't seem to decide between having my old injectors rebuilt or buy new ones.

Either way, I know I want them pop tested to balance them. I'm thinking rebuilts might be more economical that way. If I buy new, I'll have to pay to have them tested and adjusted anyways, where as a shop may do it all in one.

About the only shop we have around these parts is Habour City Diesel in Naniamo. Naniamo is only about an hour drive away from where I am (Comox). There's BD in Vancouver, but that's a 90 dollar one way ferry ride to just get off the island, not to mention the fuel to get there.

Any chance anyone has experience with Harbour city?

Also, what are some recommendations for glow plugs? Looking for good replacements that will last and give superior starting performance. It can get mighty cold in some parts of Canada and I could be posted anywhere at any time.

and Bosch new injectors.
A guy on fleabay sell them for less $36.00 each. Look for ebay item 140393596399

Hmmm, price isn't bad if he'll ship USPS to Canada. have an inquiry in right now...not too sure about his check, money order or bank check only payment policy. Doesn't give you much recourse if he doesn't ship 'em.

Still have to have them pressure tested though....and an install kit.

If I come in around 500 bucks for all that, that'll do.....

Local shop to rebuild them and pop test. IF things go bad local shop can re-test them... Like they did when I blew a hole in the #1 piston. It was not the injectors.

Ebay is cheap, but, risk can be high. High mile engine may be a "So what?" to you anyway?

You also get the option of Rockauto, BOSCH part # 0432217276 (courtesy of Matt ;) )
for $42.79 each + shipping.
Rockauto accepts Paypal.

I have bought a set. These are brand newones, which come in BOSCH yellow boxes, perfectly wrapped.

Bought a set from who? Rock auto or ebay?

Sorry still new here.....Matt who?

The ebay guy is handled "moneyslave" and real name Dennis (last name with held)...anyone deal with him?

He's definitely a good deal for 260 USD shipped to my door.....

its matt bachand he is talking about who told us all about the good deal on rock auto. which is where i got my injectors too.

Hmmmm, 42.79 X 8 = 342.42 USD before shipping form rock auto and they'll used UPS which dings you with brokerage and cod charges.

Ebay is 260 shipped to my door for NOS and USPS which gets though the border clean. Sounding better the more I dig.....I''m sure I can get them balanced for that 80 dollar difference.

great white, I got a set of injectors from moneyslave. He was very prompt on shipping. They were Bosch, made in India. They were in the stock yellow boxes and still sealed in the plastic wrapping. I took them down to a local implement dealer and had them pop tested for $34. They all were right at 2200 PSI. I have not had a chance to get them installed yet though.

I found out about them from somebody else on one of these forums, don't remember which one. Anyway, this guy and others had purchased these injectors and used them with real good results.

I was expecting to buy from moneyslave too, but he doesn't accept PayPal yet, and other method of payments generate extra fees I don't like.
Several guys have bought from him and are happy with his BOSCH injectors.

Don't forget to buy an injector install kit : fuel lines + end plugs and nipples, copper rings. One is here : Hot link to Accurate Diesel ebay store pulled we have paid vendors here that sell those kits

Im working with a distributor as we speak/write. I think I will be able to retail just the nozzles for $110 + ship. They will be the Bosch marine made in GERMANY. Just nozzles, you reuse you bodies and pop em. Thats what I did last time and had very good results.

i do not know why everyone is talking about injectors.
(should be no question on BOSCH and new for everything)

the real question is what is really going on with the wife !

Most shops will pop test them cheap or free. It's reshimming them if needed that gets spendy.

Hearing that all 8 of the India Bosch units came in at 2200 sure makes that deal tempting. Any idea what the spread (+/-) was on those, Don?
