Ok so this is probably one of those things I should know by now having owned the 6.5L for going on 6 months is
I noticed the only light that doesn't come on during the start up process is the WIF light and swear I read somewhere it is should during the start-up sequence just like the rest of them. I recently changed every bulb in the instrument panel so I assumed I didn't do something right, and pulled the instrument panel today and swapped the bulb holders with a know good light, but at last there with no change in light behavior and the other bulb assembly proved good. I looked over the electrical diagram I have for the Tahoe and looking at it I almost feel like the light cant really come on during start-up as it doesn't seem to go through the ECM but rather just from through the sensor from the ENG-I Fuse. Now I could be wrong and misreading this thing (or the diagram could be bad it isn't a gm factory one :( ), but could someone clarify this for me. Thanks!

When I clean out my FFM I will see if the brass tip of the WIF sensor is just looking for a ground path to the FFM body via water. IE short it to ground and see if the light comes on.

humm really that's all it is go figure...not even a float like the DMax. I'll try testing it this weekend when I put on my walbro and prefilter setup and finally the fuel filter (probably helps to have a working lift pump to prime it rite) and here is a shameless plug for Leroy over at PMD Cable he has the real Stanadyne filters for a very attractive price why by aftermarket when OE is cheaper? (they aren't on his site yet tho)

All fuel filters are Standyne....No Matter what box they come in....Only the ones with the Black screw top is an aftermarket filter.

If your using your own Lock nut/ring, you've got a standyne filter in there.
