Always looking for poll ideas post them HERE or send me a PM.......

John Wayne when told he was a hero to many people said that his long time movie director, Ford, was his hero cause he was on the set every day wearing a white suit! Good enough for the Duke, good enough for me! LOL I get dirty brushing my teeth.....

My Father

When I was 3 he was diagnosed with leukemia and given 6 months to live. He still had 6 kids under 18 at home. By shear will, Faith and good care by my Mother he lived for 9 years. No one ever heard him complain, even at the end the doctors and nurses said that.

RIP dad.

Wow Leo that must have been tough. Your Dad set a great example and I'm sure he'd be proud of you now.

He did set a great example Les, so did mom. My 15 yr old brother, mom and I milked 35 cows for another year after he died. It was the worst winter for snow ever around here.

Had to vote parent(s). They were part of the greatest generation. I admire several people in history but can't say any are my hero's.

Too many to name...

  • The teacher who cares enough to spend time with those who really need it
  • The mother who works late every night, so the child can have a clean and happy home
  • The father working two jobs to support them both
  • The farmer, sweating blood to get the crops in on time
  • The volunteer, who could have stayed home like so many others
  • The guy who does what's right, instead of what might be "correct"
  • Anyone who "walks the walk" after talking the talk
  • And thousands of others just like them, that I haven't met yet

Outstanding post, Bernie. I'll add one:

-- the perople who notice and appreciate all that others do.

I voted for my folks, but I agree with "too many to name". Also Christ, and the heroes of the Bible.
