Front brake rattle and rear brake squealing is what I'm fighting. I've pulled all brakes/callipers/pads off to clean grease and replace the bushings and I'm still not satisfied.

If you know something about these truck's brakes, post here and lets start a discussion.

Better stereo system....

I have a galled part of a rotor that squeals on mine. I just ignore it.

You may have to bend the ears on the pads to keep them from rattling on older rigs. Not sure on the new stuff.

What kind of pad are you running and what brand?

Better stereo hahaha.

The pads are like new, don't know the brand. I think I have too much play on the ears and that's whats causing the front driver side to rattle. As for the squealing rears, I really have no idea.

I think whats going to happen is I'm going to find another set of pads and replace mine. I want to find some chep ones with next to no metallic material in them. New anti-rattle clips will happen in the fronts also.

The Wagner thermoquiet have been doing a great noise free job on my 6.5 stuff. They stop way better than the top of the line AZ garbage. Ceramic is quieter. I do not like ceramic. Semi metallic is famous for noise back in the day.

Cheap and brakes DO NOT belong in the same sentence. :hitwithrock:

Somewhere I have a bunch of pics and stuff when I did brakes a few months ago. Damned if I can find it right now.
Raybestos blue ceramic pads all around.

I still have all original pads except front Pass which had a wheel bearing replaced prior to my purchase and the receipt show new EVERYTHING on that side. Since I've bought it I have greased the pins twice on all 4 corners. I have ~220K and the last 80K havent been all fun and games.

I will be going with raybestos expensive stuff when I replace everything this winter, and MORE GREASE!

Pins and bushings were notorious for wearing out and causing that along with the anti-rattle clips. It drove me nuts on the 06 so one day I got pissed and replaced everything.

The good news is that brake parts for those trucks are relatively cheap.

Grady, I see you've been where I am now haha. I may have to bite the bullet and just start replacing everything!!! It's crazy when it all looks good, performs good but rattles and squeeeels like a stuck pig.

Just an update: I picked up some blue spray from the dealer today and sprayed it to the back side of the pads. It's really sticky stuff once it sets up. All noise is gone for now. Guess it keeps the pads from rattling around when it's stuck to the calliper. See how long this lasts.
