White smoke

Was ATT on old engine? I was wondering if blown engine may have taken out the ATT. Were you able to inspect old motor for metal shavings...ect.

EDIT: WW was posting as I typed my last.

The coolant blow up was the previous episode, I was just explaining why the new motor, no loss of coolant this time. Only the seal in the turbo. Thanks for all the warnings though. When I did the engine replacement I put new everything on including radiator, oil cooler, IP, etc. My current (original) turbo did go through the engine blow up but it's working fine for right now. I suppose I should look into getting the ATT rebuilt.

I didn't check the old motor for shavings I just bolted it to the pallet the new one came on and called the trucking company to come pick it up for the core return. I don't know why they would want it back though, not much chance of rebuilding that lump. ATT was only on new motor.

I'd get with him or Dennis to see what they can do. If you need a tune in the future you can get with me on it.

Thanks.

haha! I misread your previous post, its after 5 on a LONG day... But the fact remains, it wouldnt be worth wasting the peanut butter....

Come on now...alittle PB & J sounds good :yumyum: Somebody stop me before it gets weird!

Ok, so let me get it back on track . . . ;)

X2 on contacting Dennis for a rebuild. Seeing as the truck is running again, now is a good time to get the ATT rebuilt and then swap back when ready.

Also, (shameless plug for PT Wiring Solutions (sorry Leroy)) might consider getting the newly available drain kit for the ATT.

We are lucky to have 2 vendors that sell great quality products. If I survive the infection from back surgury, I'm gonna get that drain. I've run out of things to get from Leroy.

Don't worry about that. Im adding about 50 more products to a new website that should be up soon.

Is Dennis on the forum? I have had this turbo rebuilt before by him. When I originally installed it the oil supply fitting vibrated out, I really didn't think the straight threads on this fitting and the paper gasket that was supposed to seal it was a good solution. My oil supply blew off while I was at WOT and instantly my turbo was trash. I sent it to him and he rebuilt it with a new center section and had to have some machining done on the rest of it as the blades chewed into it. After the rebuild I used a copper brake line gasket to seal the fitting, it worked great, screwed down tight and no leaks. I don't know if my current failure is attributable to the former failure. I think I might be done with this turbo.
