White Smoke

OK! The push tube for the intake valve on cylinder #3 is gone.... I looked around inside the head for the pushtube and could not find it.

My newest question is what is the most likely cause, I cant see anything wrong with the shaft or rocker arm. I am really hoping for some insite. I would like to think they dont just fall off!

I think i got a return line kit with the washers for $20 or a bit more off ebay.

The push rod is missing? A collapsed lifter could cause it to fall out of position. I can't help you on where it went.

If a push rod fell out, I would be checking the white rocker button that holds the rocker arm in place. They are VERY well known for breaking and allowing teh rocker arms to move around and pushrods come out of place.

I bought the washers from James Wood Motors because a popular online parts house named after a boulder... did not list that they did not come with the fuel injectors.

The little plastic things on top of the rocker arms are orange and two of them are broken. Now what? Do I need to replace all of the rocker arms on the engine, is there some way to inspect them?

ANY information would be helpful at this point!

Thanks in advance
John

Those little buttons that you describe as being orange are replaceable. You will probably have to pull the rocker shafts off to get all the old broken plastic out, but it is doable. They are easily replaceable, and most likely all yuou will need is those little plastic buttons to fix it and posibly a pushrod or two(when the buttons get worn it allows the pushrods to get off center which can bend the push rods).

I am still looking for the rocker arm retainers.... who has them in stock?

I have ordered the gaskets and a pushtube. I plan check ALL of the pushtubes and make sure they are not bent.

I would use any troubleshooting information anyone has....

Thanks in advance
John
