I´m gonna replace the uppers and lowers both sides. What brand and supplier is best? I see Moog at Rock Auto for a decent price. Any good? There is quite a selection and this is my first time with the "95" so make and numbers would be greatly appreciated. Thanks g

I would go with moog and nothing else on all front end products they make.

I went with a cheaper, less superior product on my upper and lower ball joints, both sides. All four of them failed in 2 years(to the date) with less than 14,000 miles. I took them back and upgraded to moog.

Moog makes good joints and tie rod ends. RAYBESTOS professional grade is a good high quality bushing, but there joints and tie rod ends are about the same as the rest. Then again even MOOG is downgrading some of there suspension components here as of late to the same as the rest.

Why screw around with rubbers when you can get the poly bushings? Energy suspension poly, black, is what I have on my 1995 and 1993. So far with one set of tires worn out they were even all the way across when they were shot on the 1993. I have over 40K on the 1993's poly bushings and love them. They hold a straight line better on our rough roads.

They are harder to install, but, worth it.

Thanks for the replys. Is there any vendor that sells a complete set of bushings (control arm and stabilizer),ball joints, tie rod ends ect. for my 1995 chevt k 2500 4x4 6.5 diesel Suburban? I have one shot at getting the correct sizes. I´ll be in Cali in Nov. to pick up the parts but returning them won´t be an option as I´ll be back down here (Mex) having them installed.

If not can anybody give me the right numbers for moog parts metioned above. The selection and sizes are overwhelming my pea brain.

Thanks to all
gus

Gus, just use RockAuto and get the Moogs. No "Kits", but RockAuto will get you the right parts.

Thanks Steve. I did just that. Now I have to determine if my control arms are stamped or forged? How do I tell the difference?

Gus, 100% certain you have stamped lower control arms on the '95. Forged did not come out until later models, '97 I think.

How do you tell? They're hollow and have a ridge of metal around the outside where the two edges are spot welded together. They look like this:

And here's a shot of the forged lower control arms which are much skinnier:

Forged were used on some of the early 3500's, but it wasn't until later that they put them on the 2500's. I know my 95 2500 has stamped arms on it, but I have seen a 3500 of the same vintage with forged.

Again thanks Steve and ferm! I just got out from under the sub and the lower arm is stamped but the upper appears to be forged?

I got it all ordered. While I´m doing the arms and balljoints I decided to replace some of the the steering and suspension parts. Soon to be riding like new:thumbsup:! Thanks everybody. gus

Some after pics. I´m glad I did more than the ball joints!! That drivers side motor mount was so bad that the down pipe frome the turbo had a hole worn into it from resting on the frame. Three of the four U bolts looked like that one.

Thanks for the help. Gus

Gus, how hard is it to install the engine mounts? Or did you have the local wrenches do the work? I'm due for engine mounts.

How's it driving after the fix? This made a huge difference in my '99 and Colby's '94.

Steve, yes I had my local wrench do it and he complained bitterly. I guess those motor mounts are a major PITA. The difference in driving is incredible. Well worth it. g
